We are looking to maintain a seamless environment by assuring that equipment is performing to specifications to facilitate uninterrupted manufacturing.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have strong maintenance/hands on technical experience and leadership background. A professional with 7+ years of experience who thrives on influencing without authority, driving continuous improvement, and embedding EHS values into operational excellence. You'll own and elevate EHS processes and be a strategic partner across functional departments.</p> <p>How You Will Do It</p> <p>Process Ownership & Compliance</p> <ul> <li> <p>Implement JCI EHS policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards (14001/ 45001/ 9001)</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (JHA, HAZOP), and ergonomic evaluations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance across multiple reporting lines and operational units within a matrixed structure.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage environmental reporting, waste characterization, and regulatory submissions.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform regular safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are taken.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with JCI Legal on regulatory and compliance topics.</p> </li><li> <p>Data management with EHS information system.</p> </li></ul> <p>Incident Management</p> <ul> <li> <p>Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety-related data within the digital management system and prepare reports as regularly.</p> </li></ul> <p>Culture & Engagement</p> <ul> <li> <p>Champion a "Commitment to Safety" culture through behavior-based safety programs and peer-led accountability.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a key liaison with regulatory agencies and external safety organizations.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate safety committees and employee engagement forums to build ownership across roles and departments.</p> </li><li> <p>Influence plant and functional leaders to integrate EHS priorities into daily decision-making.</p> </li></ul> <p>Training & Communication</p> <ul> <li> <p>Deliver tailored EHS training programs that resonate with both direct and indirect stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate safety goals, performance metrics, and improvement plans transparently to multiple layers of leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide coaching and mentorship to cross-functional teams, helping them champion EHS in their own domains.</p> </li></ul> <p>Performance & Analytics</p> <ul> <li> <p>Track leading indicators such as near-misses, safety observations, and training compliance.</p> </li><li> <p>Use lagging indicators to validate program effectiveness and identify improvement areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive KPI performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure continuance of operations by strategic and tactical decisions and action based on data, trends, observances, and reporting.</p> </li></ul> <p>What We Look For</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably in HVAC</p> </li><li> <p>Proven success in influencing matrixed teams and driving cultural transformation.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, ISO 14001/ 45001/ 9001, and behavior-based safety systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in EHS digital platforms, data analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite.</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, tailored to varied audiences.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to navigate between floors using steep stairwells.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li> <p>EHS Certification (CSP, CHMM, CIH, PE or eligible for certification)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodology</p> </li></ul> <p>$89,000 - 119,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
