<p>SAFETY/SECURITY SENSITIVE DESIGNATION & JOB OBJECTIVE</p> <p>This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.</p> <p>JOB OBJECTIVE:To enter and code warrant and no contact order information into the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer systems and the Police Department Mainframe in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines; maintains files and records related to warrants and no contact orders.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Processes, codes, and enters warrant and no contact order information in the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer system and the Police Department Mainframe; modifies specific information including addresses, social security numbers and any necessary corrections in compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures; proofreads and conducts audits to verify the accuracy of data entered; notifies supervisor of discrepancies. </li><li>Receives and arranges criminal, environmental and traffic courts warrants and no contact orders in numerical order and files hard copy records in the master warrant file; mails certified copies of warrants to other law enforcement agencies. </li><li>Receives information and transmits messages to other law enforcement agencies regarding the status of warrants and information pertaining to wanted persons utilizing the ACIC/NCIC computer system. </li><li>Enters information regarding arrest reports and criminal citations served by Warrant Officers into the computer; utilizes the ACIC/NCIC computer system to perform drivers' license and criminal history checks. </li><li>Serves subpoenas to the general public by telephone for traffic and environmental courts; maintains a hard copy log of telephone subpoenas, which includes the individual's name and telephone number, the date and time of contact and relevant subpoena information. </li><li>Testifies in court regarding telephone subpoenas and warrant records as required. </li><li>Answers questions and provides information to citizens, and the general public relating to policies and procedures relating to warrants, subpoenas and related information. </li><li>Establishes and maintains electronic files and hard copy record-keeping systems of all warrants and no contact orders; provides assistance in developing procedure guidelines for warrants and no contact orders. </li><li>Destroys obsolete or unnecessary data relating to warrants and no contact orders in the ACIC/NCIC computer system and the Police Department Mainframe in compliance with all applicable laws, guidelines, policies and procedures. </li><li>Validates ACIC/NCIC Validation Request Reports for No Contact Orders and warrants to ensure records are complete, accurate and active or inactive; ensures accuracy of information, including names, dates of birth and sex, by contacting courts to update and modify warrants and no contact orders as needed. </li><li>Provides administrative assistance to departmental personnel by compiling information for the preparation of reports and presentations for other law enforcement agency audits. </li><li>Provides assistance to departmental personnel regarding entering warrant and no contact order information in the ACIC/NCIC computer system. </li><li>Operates a computer with database, spreadsheet, and word processing software in the performance of essential job functions. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school, two (2) years of general clerical experience to include one (1) year of demonstrated experience in detailed record keeping, data entry, data validation or related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.</p> <p> </p> <p>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: </p> <ul> <li>Must possess valid Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Level 1, Basic Terminal Operator, and Level 2, Advanced Operator, certifications before employment in this position and maintain certifications for the duration of employment in this position. </li></ul> <p>DISCLAIMER: This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise.</p> <p>SECONDARY DUTIES</p> <ul> <li>Performs other related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of hard copy and electronic filing and record keeping systems. </li><li>Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of data entry principles and practices. </li><li>Knowledge of the practices and procedures governing criminal and traffic warrants. </li><li>Knowledge of computer fundamentals and business software, including database, spreadsheet and word processing software. </li><li>Skill in the operation of a computer, utilizing database, spreadsheet and word processing software. </li><li>Ability to interpret and understand ACIC and NCIC codes. </li><li>Ability to type information accurately in the computer system. </li><li>Ability to maintain accurate files and records. </li><li>Ability to perform detailed data entry. </li><li>Ability to assign correct officer codes to warrants. </li><li>Ability to modify warrant information in the ACIC/NCIC computer system. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain hard copy and electronic files and record-keeping systems. </li><li>Ability to serve civilian subpoenas by telephone. </li><li>Ability to testify in court regarding telephone subpoenas and warrants records. </li><li>Ability to answer questions and provide information to citizens regarding warrants, subpoenas and related procedures. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with members of the public and other employees. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - REPRESENTATIVE OF THOSE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB</p> <p>The physical demand characteristics and activities indicated below are representative of those that will be required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
