<p>Job Description:</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach will oversee the development, implementation and management of sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for all student athletes and with the operation of the Landry Fitness Center.</p> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Design effective year-round athletic strength training and conditioning programs for all intercollegiate teams based on testing and in collaboration with coaches. </li><li>Implement appropriate strength and conditioning programs, teaching proper techniques and providing supervision and motivation as needed. </li><li>Conduct testing to assess performance and improvement on a regular basis. Document and evaluate results and progress of student athletes. Review results with student athletes and coaches. </li><li>Supervise and evaluate student interns as they supervise workouts. Collaborate with the Exercise and Sports Science Department as needed. </li><li>Develop plans for the policies and organization of the new fitness facility. </li><li>Maintain equipment and make recommendations for repairs and/or replacements as needed. </li><li>Develop programming related to student athlete health and wellness topics. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree required. </li><li>Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (National Strength and Conditioning Association) or current certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches' Association. </li><li>Current CPR/AED certification. </li><li>Experience with and an excellent working knowledge of exercise techniques appropriate for a variety of intercollegiate student athletes. </li><li>Proficiency in teaching lifting techniques. </li><li>Ability to supervise and motivate student athletes. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with a diverse population. </li><li>Effective organizational skills. </li><li>Must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board (CORI check); a background check satisfactory to the university. </li><li>Ability to perform above duties with or without reasonable accommodation. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, 10-month, professional APA position. The annual 10-month salary range for this position is $57,000 to $62,000 commensurate with education and experience.
