<p>Pay Schedule I, Grade 25, Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week.</p> <p>A vacancy exists in the Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Behavioral Health.</p> <p>A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below.</p> <p>Current and future vacancies occurring within this class may be filled from the list of eligible applicants.</p> <p>All interested transfer and promotional candidates must apply at this time.</p> <p>List allpromotionsand changes in job duties due toreclassificationas separate work experience on your application. Proof of license(s) certifications, and/or education must be submitted with each application.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <p>This position will be responsible for assisting with the Department of Health, Bureau of Behavioral Health (BBH) Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) services in Baltimore County for adults with a mental health diagnosis under the supervision of the Human Services Program Supervisor.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Review RRP applications to determine eligibility for service based on Medically Necessity Criteria (MNC); </li><li>Coordinate with RRP providers to fill vacancies; </li><li>Maintain waitlist and update as needed to remove applicants no longer interested in the program; </li><li>Manage transfer requests and out-of-county referrals. </li><li>Complete physical inspection of all RRP, Residential Crisis Service (RCS), and Group Homes for Adults with Mental Illness (GH-A)beds following COMAR requirements outlined in 10.21.22; </li><li>Provide all documentation related to the inspections to the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA); </li><li>Complete re-inspections of programs, as needed. </li><li>Maintain documentation of completed inspections. </li></ul> <p>EXAMPLES OF OTHER DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the coordination of the Baltimore County RRP Committee: schedule regular meetings, record keeping, follow-up; </li><li>Provide updates regarding BHA policies related to the RRP programs; </li><li>Provide assistance to individuals calling the BBH HELP Call line. </li><li>Determine needs of individuals seeking assistance and refer to appropriate services in the Public Behavioral Health System. </li><li>Attend BHA meetings and trainings; </li><li>Assist with coordination with Emergency Department staff and Hospital Discharge coordinators to provide resources for community-based services, including RRP application. </li><li>Assist with outreach to community organizations, groups and agencies to inform and educate about available resources; </li><li>Assist with coordination and providing trainings as needed and distribute resource materials as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>(NOTE: The duties and responsibilities listed above are for the purpose of determining a common set of minimum qualifications for all positions in this class. Each position may not be required to perform all of the essential job functions listed.)</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>At least one year of experience working with individuals with a severe Mental Health diagnosis.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Entry-level):</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of the Public Behavioral Health system and resources.</p> </li><li> <p>Professional writing skills necessary to complete reports, good interpersonal skills, time management skills, organizational skills and good customer service skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to walk for long periods of time, climb multiple flights of stairs in a day, stoop down, lift up to 20lbs and perform other physical requirements as necessary.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Full Performance):</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of the court system procedures including the Criminal Justice System and legal status definitions such as incompetent to stand trial, not criminally responsible, and conditional release.</p> </li><li> <p>Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to plan effectively and communicate well with State Hospital discharge coordinators, community providers, and Local Behavioral Health Authorities throughout Maryland.</p> </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certificates</p> <p>Some positions within this classification may require possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver's license at the time of appointment.</p> <p>Proof ofLicenses, Certifications and Education</p> <p>Applicants are required to submit proof of education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Applicants are advised to state the dates, duties and responsibilities of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes.</p> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <p>Physical and Environmental Conditions: These positions are essentially sedentary with occasional walking, lifting, or other restricted physical activities. Positions may require traveling between work sites.</p> <p>Some positions may require satisfactory completion of County sponsored CPR and First Aid training. These positions must maintain certification throughout employment.</p> <p>Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation</p> <p>Applicant's selected for an appointment to a position in Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.</p>
