To provide support and assistance to the GI staff in all areas that specialize in endoscopy.</p> <p>Essential Job functions:</p> <ul> <li>Clean, disinfect, endoscopic scopes and equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards </li><li>Maintain endoscopic equipment, let someone know when something needs to be sent out for repair. </li><li>Perform safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning </li><li>Maintain inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies </li><li>Ensure appropriate and safe storage of endoscopic scopes and associated equipment </li><li>Notify lead technician of any deficit in appropriate stock related to endoscopy equipment </li><li>Conduct weekly maintenance of the endoscopy washer/disinfectors and maintenance of drying cabinets </li><li>Maintain legible and accurate records of all endoscopes processed and used in order that an audit trail (tracking and tracing) for each endoscopic procedure is maintained. </li><li>Maintain a safe and clean working environment. </li><li>Assist physician in the endoscopic procedure. </li><li>Prepare rooms according to endoscopic procedure requirements. </li><li>Attend in service training to validate or refresh basic professional skills. </li></ul> <p>General Job functions:</p> <ul> <li>Other job duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Physical Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Regular combination of sitting, standing, walking, lifting pushing and pulling. </li><li>Requirement to exert moderate physical effort involving lifting and handling equipment and stock items. </li><li>Need for excellent hand-eye coordination to ensure accuracy and speed working with contaminated equipment </li><li>Lifting of heavy containers of chemicals </li><li>Lifting and stretching when loading scopes into washer and cabinets. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Risks:</p> <ul> <li>Loud noises </li><li>Handling contaminated equipment and hazardous substances </li><li>Exposure to highly unpleasant conditions, (e.g. blood, body fluids, tissue) </li></ul> <p>Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required. </li><li>0-1 years experience required. </li><li>Valid Driver's license required. </li><li>Certified in Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing (CER) or obtained within 1 year of employment. </li><li>Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing required. </li><li>Strong Multi - tasking, organizing & priority setting skills required. </li><li>Experience with Hand Tools and Material handling equipment, i.e. hand carts, dollies, etc. preferred. </li><li>Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred. </li><li>Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Windows based environment preferred. </li></ul> <p>About Our Commitment</p> <p>Total Rewards at VillageMD</p> <p>Our team members are essential to our mission to reshape healthcare through the power of connection.
