<p>About the NC State College of Education</p> <p>As one of the nation's top-ranked colleges of education, NC State's College of Education leads the way in North Carolina in preparing extraordinary educators, conducting transformational research, and engaging communities where they are to improve the educational outcomes of all learners and advance the greater good. The college's faculty are widely-recognized thought leaders who use their research to transform the practice of teaching, learning, and leading. The College of Education is also home to the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research, the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, and Elevate, NC State's inclusive postsecondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.</p> <p>The college has over 18,000 living alumni, with over 6,000 working in public schools in every county in North Carolina. Administratively housed in the Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences in the College of Education, Elevate is a university-wide initiative designed for North Carolina residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and offers educational credentials, such as certificates. The program focuses on five pillars of success: academics, employment, personal development, independent living and social engagement.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties</p> <p>The Director of the Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) Program will lead NC State's innovative IPSE initiative, designed to provide educational opportunities for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This position is critical to the strategic direction and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the IPSE program, supporting NC State's mission of providing access to high-quality education and supporting student success.</p> <p>As the Director, you will be responsible for serving in a leadership role that oversees all aspects of the program, including curriculum development, student support services, and external partnerships. You will work with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure the program's success and growth.</p> <p>Duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Program Leadership & Management: (40%) </li></ul> <p>Lead the IPSE team in designing, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of the program, including curriculum, teaching, and support services for students with IDD.</p> <ul> <li>Budget Management:(15%) </li></ul> <p>Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring financial sustainability through grants, contracts, and donor relationships.</p> <ul> <li>Collaboration: (15%) </li></ul> <p>Provides strategic leadership and oversight of all Elevate staff operations. Builds and sustains high-impact cross-campus collaborations, serving as the primary liaison with faculty, university leadership, and external stakeholders to advance the mission of Elevate program.</p> <ul> <li>Student Support:(10%) </li></ul> <p>Oversee student-centered planning, admissions, and advising processes. Support peer mentoring, internships, and work-based learning opportunities for students with IDD.</p> <ul> <li>Curriculum Development:(10%) </li></ul> <p>Collaborate with faculty to design courses that align with students' career goals, ensuring that curriculum standards meet state and federal guidelines for inclusive education.</p> <ul> <li>Community Outreach & Recruitment:(10%) </li></ul> <p>Lead efforts to recruit students into the program, develop a strong community presence, and engage in advocacy efforts that promote educational equity for students with disabilities.</p> <p>Other Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Doctoral degree in Special Education, Disability Studies, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with at least 5 years in program leadership or management roles in inclusive postsecondary education, work-based learning, or secondary transition for young adults with disabilities. </li><li>Experience managing large-scale educational programs, including curriculum development, research, and student services. </li></ul> <p>Other Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Proven success in securing and managing external funding and grants. </li><li>Experience working with state and federal agencies, vocational rehabilitation, or employment services for individuals with disabilities. </li><li>Experience in program evaluation, data-driven decision-making, and student outcome assessment. </li></ul> <p>Required License(s) or Certification(s)</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Valid NC Driver's License required Yes Commercial Driver's License required No</p>
