<p>Developmental Engineer in RF Manufacturing</p> <p>Location: On-site in Palo Alto, CA</p> <p>Department: Engineering</p> <p>Employment Type: Full-Time</p> <p>Pay: $110K to $175K</p> <p>Microwave Power Products, Inc. As part of the TransDigm (TDG) family, MPP offers the agility of a technically deep manufacturing site backed by the scale and discipline of a global aerospace leader.</p> <p>YOUR DAY TO DAY (Job Summary)</p> <p>Design and development of products across all of our business lines (Gyrotron, Klystron, Traveling Wave Tubes [Coupled Cavity and Helix], Power Grid, and Magnetron). Direct the work of other engineers and technicians. Plans and monitors project costs and schedules interfacing with internal and external customers.</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO (Responsibilities)</p> <ul> <li>Devises the initial concept of the assigned engineering product/project and related components and systems, directs and participates in the overall detailed product design. </li><li>Assumes project responsibility and carries it through various stages of development according to established schedule. </li><li>Performs administrative project tasks such as planning and monitoring schedules and budgets. </li><li>Recognizes design problems and errors and takes corrective action. </li><li>Creates original hardware, circuits, components, software, processes, and models to prove the feasibility of the approach being investigated. </li><li>Conceives, analyzes, prepares and presents proposals for new programs which will lead to new products; organizes and implements or assists in organizing and implementing a thorough R & D program. </li><li>Monitors the technical program or a portion of it to ensure that fundamentals are fully understood; basic problems are solved, and analysis and design approaches are sufficiently rigorous. </li><li>Collaborates with other departments such as purchasing, marketing, service and quality assurance as needed to carry out responsibilities. </li><li>Ensures that all documentation is completed and in proper form. </li><li>Works with manufacturing during pilot run and first production runs to ensure an efficient transition from engineering to production. </li><li>Directs engineering and technical support personnel as required. </li><li>Maintains superior level of technical competence and state of the art awareness. </li><li>Develops cost estimates for products, projects and programs. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE THESE PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or other related technical discipline plus seven (7) years of experience or an equivalent combination of relevant technical education and experience such as a master's degree plus five (5) years of experience; or a PhD plus two (2) years of experience. </li><li>Requires the demonstrated ability to direct project work. </li><li>Must possess thorough understanding of vacuum tube theory, design, and test along with high voltage equipment and safety practices. </li><li>Good communication skills and manual dexterity required. </li></ul> <p>This position may involve access to information subject to U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR). Access to certain controlled information may be limited to individuals who qualify as "U.S. persons" (generally U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and certain protected individuals). Non-U.S. persons may still apply; however to be eligible for the role, access to controlled information may require U.S. government authorization.</p> <p>Applicants must be able to comply with applicable export control requirements.
