Provides counsel to the President/CEO and Board of Directors regarding the credit union's internal accounting and financial reporting systems, policies, program and procedures. Conducts analyses and prepares regular reports that depict the financial status of the credit union. Serves as credit union Investment Officer. Provides prompt, professional and courteous support and assistance to internal departments, retail branches and members.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Lead all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting. </li><li>Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors based on financial analysis and projections. </li><li>Manage the credit union's asset-liability position, ensuring adequate liquidity, interest rate risk mitigation and capital planning. </li><li>Oversee investment portfolio strategies aligned with institutional goals and risk tolerance. </li><li>Maintain strong relationships with auditors, regulators (NCUA) and other key financial partners. </li><li>Collaborate with other internal and external partners to evaluate and implement technological tools that enhance financial and operational performance. </li><li>Serve as a financial steward while advancing innovation, growth and member value. </li><li>Lead, coach and develop the finance and accounting team to promote professional growth and operational excellence. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Manages employees in the Accounting/Finance Department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this area.</p> <p>Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains a positive attitude with employees and members, and remains flexible while focused on accepted practices, policy, productivity and effectiveness. </li><li>Promotes awareness of the credit union mission and brand statement to the credit union membership. </li><li>Abides by the Service Standards established by the credit union. </li><li>Strong knowledge of financial products and services. </li><li>Regular and predictable attendance. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate professionally. </li><li>Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with established dress code policy. </li><li>Technological skills and knowledge, including computer literacy. </li></ul> <p>PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:</p> <p>Maintains conservative, yet reliable records prepared on a timely basis, that fully address all aspects of the credit union's assets, liabilities, income, expense, and reserves. Ensures that the entire accounting and data processing system is maintained to conform to the requirements of the Federal Credit Union Act, State legislation as might be applicable, other Rules and Regulations and Financial Management Standards prescribed and/or recommended for the prudent financial management of the credit union.</p> <p>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>A degree in Finance or Accounting obtained from a recognized university, plus eight (8) to ten (10) years' experience in a similar position at a bank, credit union, or savings and loan. An advanced degree or Certified Public Accountant license preferred. Equivalents in education and experience considered.</p> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:</p> <p>Certified Public Accountant's (CPA) license preferred.</p>
