<p>Summer Spirits Internship Program - 2026</p> <p>The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (Virginia ABC) is proud to offer the Summer Spirits Internship Program, a paid, full-time professional development opportunity. The program runs from May through August 2026 at Virginia ABC Headquarters in Mechanicsville.</p> <p>This internship provides hands-on experience within key Virginia ABC divisions, allowing students to apply academic knowledge in a dynamic public sector environment while contributing to meaningful authority initiatives.</p> <p>For summer 2026, internship placement is available within the Office of Legal Counsel.</p> <p>The intern assigned to the Office of Legal Counsel will support the division's legal and regulatory functions. Responsibilities may include conducting legal research, reviewing statutes and regulations, assisting with policy analysis, and providing general support to agency attorneys as needed.</p> <p>Eligibility & Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>To be considered for the Office of Legal Counsel internship, applicants must:</p> <ul> <li>Have completed at least their first year of law school prior to the start of the internship </li><li>Be enrolled in an accredited law program and in good academic standing </li><li>Provide an unofficial transcript for verification </li><li>Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Exhibit professionalism, attention to detail and the ability to manage assignments independently </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Program Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Compensation: $20 per hour </li><li>Schedule: Full time (40 hours per week) </li><li>Work Hours: Monday through Friday, during normal business hours </li><li>Housing: Lodging is not provided </li></ul> <p>The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority does not provide sponsorship.
