<p>Summary: Responsible for generating new business leads; as well as, converting existing business into contracted catered events.</p> <p>Engagement Expectations:</p> <p>We believe that team member engagement is the basis for a great culture and superior guest service. During every interaction, we display three behaviors:</p> <ul> <li>Smile, display energy and open body language </li><li>Proactively greet team members and guests, initiating interaction to provide service </li><li>Always use a positive parting remark to end the conversation </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Strong focus on selling meeting and program space to local businesses and organizations. </li><li>Seeks out new catering business to achieve revenue goals by actively networking within the local community and demonstrating strong client relations skills. </li><li>Facilitates catering sales from incoming inquiries as well as internal referrals. </li><li>Maintains relationships with past clients to facilitate future bookings. </li><li>Must have the ability to forecast future business on an annual basis. Craft sales goals in order to meet forecasts. </li><li>Responsible for bookings, confirmations, billings, generating proposals and contracts. </li><li>Coordination with other departments to ensure successful planning and execution for all events. </li><li>Creating banquet event orders and reviewing with clients to ensure all needs are met. Ability to make recommendations and implement changes as needed. </li><li>Proficient in the use of related software, Delphi, Salesforce, Reserve and any other types of catering software. </li><li>Coordination of events with the Banquet Manager to ensure easy transition from sales to operations. </li><li>Ensures pricing is accurate and complete for all catering events, must have ability to upsell catering menus and items before and during programs. </li><li>Must assist banquet leadership team with execution of events. </li><li>Operates with the venue's best interest in mind. </li><li>Reviews and approves all banquet checks. </li><li>Ability to extend complimentary services in accordance with the approved comp matrix. </li><li>Assisting the community relations team with bookings. Expected to attend events and networking off property to grow contacts and source business </li><li>Organize travel kits to best promote our property and assets; partner with marketing team to develop key sales messages and material, and align Events Center with broader property activity. </li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 18 years of age or older. </li><li>A bachelor's degree is preferred. </li><li>2 years of catering sales or related experience </li><li>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. </li><li>The ability to analyze, resolve problems and exercise good judgment in decision-making. </li><li>Ability to work successfully without direct supervision. </li><li>A dynamic, enthusiastic and creative personality who thrives under pressure. </li><li>The ability to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed. </li><li>Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software. </li><li>Flexible availability that includes weekends and holidays. </li><li>The ability to obtain and retain all required licenses. </li></ul> <p>Physical and Mental Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Regularly required to walk, stand, see, talk, hear, use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms. </li><li>The ability to stoop and kneel. </li><li>The strength to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment. </li></ul>
