<p>Uncle Giuseppe's gourmet bakery is actively seeking a FT Cake Decorator for our Morris Plains, NJ Store. This new team member will perform all duties related to cake, tart, pastry, and special-order decoration. Our new hire will also create appealing designs on all specialty bakery goods ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient service to our customers.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Creatively decorates all cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items </li><li>Assists with production of all mandatory bakery products (i.e. parfaits, bars, cupcakes) </li><li>Produces in-house products to daily par levels, as specified on production sheets </li><li>Completes production and spoilage records, adjusting production sheets to maintain sufficient product </li><li>Prepares, packages, weighs, and prices bakery products for sale </li><li>Monitors product quality for freshness and ensures proper product rotation </li><li>Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner </li><li>Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards </li><li>Other duties and functions as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Job Skills</p> <ul> <li>Thorough product knowledge </li><li>Ability to follow directions and established procedures </li><li>Good cake decorating skills (ability to make flowers and decorative borders; knowledge of elegant piping techniques) </li><li>Basic math skills for recipe conversions and modifications </li><li>Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team </li><li>Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors </li><li>Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and co-workers </li><li>Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills </li><li>Passion for food and the mission of Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace </li><li>Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency </li></ul> <p>Experience/Education</p> <ul> <li>HS Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Professional training or in depth training as a Cake Decorator </li><li>2 + years of Cake Decorating experience in addition experience working within a retail experience performing cake decorating </li><li>Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language </li><li>Requires an individual who is detail oriented with a keen eye for the art of cake decorating </li></ul> <p>We offer an excellent salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(K), 50% lunch discount, 25% shopping discount and more!</p>
