<p>Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Security SME in Pleasanton, CA that can sit fully remote PST. This is a 6-12 month contract role with potential conversion down the line.</p> <p>Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Network Security SME that brings deep expertise in multi-cloud networking and security, with a strong focus on Azure, GCP, and/or OCI environments. The Senior Cloud Network Security SME will play a key role in designing, securing, and supporting complex network infrastructures across hybrid and cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with core routing and switching (including heavy BGP), security platforms like Palo Alto and Fortinet, and enterprise networking tools such as Meraki. A strong understanding of SQN (Secure Quality Networking), expert-level Azure networking, and Visio diagramming skills are essential.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and support cloud-based network security architectures across Azure, GCP, and OCI platforms </li><li>Manage and optimize core routing and switching environments, with emphasis on BGP and enterprise-grade protocols </li><li>Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, and create/review security policies </li><li>Collaborate with cloud security architects and DevOps teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure </li><li>Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams using Visio </li><li>Provide expert-level support and recommendations for Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, and related networking tools </li><li>Conduct risk assessments, security reviews, and gap analysis across cloud environments </li><li>Stay up to date on the latest trends, vulnerabilities, and innovations in cloud and network security* Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Network Engineer Associate, PCNSE, CCNP, Fortinet NSE) preferred </li><li>8+ years of experience in networking and network security </li><li>Expert-level knowledge of Azure networking (VNETs, NSGs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancing, etc.) </li><li>Hands-on experience with GCP and/or OCI networking services is a plus </li><li>Deep understanding of core R&S concepts, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and subnetting </li><li>Strong expertise with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama </li><li>Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls and Cisco Meraki solutions </li><li>Experience with Secure Quality Networking (SQN) concepts </li><li>Proficiency in network diagramming and documentation using Microsoft Visio </li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team </li></ul>
