<p>Position Type:</p> <ul> <li>Support Staff/Bus Driver </li></ul> <p>Date Posted:</p> <ul> <li>03/21/2025 </li></ul> <p>Location:</p> <ul> <li>Mathews Local Schools </li></ul> <p>Closing Date:</p> <ul> <li>Until Filled </li></ul> <p>Position:</p> <ul> <li>Bus Driver </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Appropriate Licensure/Certificate or willingness to train for the credentials. </li><li>Pre-employment drug testing. </li><li>Successful BCII & FBI background checks. </li></ul> <p>Salary Schedule - 2024-2025 School Year (rates will increase next year):</p> <ul> <li>Step 0 - $18.65 per hour </li><li>Step 1 - $18.95 per hour </li><li>Step 2 - $19.20 per hour </li><li>Step 3 - $19.45 per hour </li><li>Step 4 - $20.11 per hour </li><li>Step 5 - $20.45 per hour </li></ul> <p>Other:</p> <p>The Mathews Local School District will pay for new driver training provided that the candidate is able to meet the following conditions:</p> <ul> <li>A clean driving record </li><li>Passes a pre-employment drug screening </li><li>Has a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment </li><li>Meets or exceeds the requirements of the physical examination </li><li>Passes all State mandated testing for bus driver certification </li><li>Successful screening interview with the Superintendent and Transportation Supervisor </li><li>Can display a work history that displays dependability, honesty, and a strong work ethic. </li></ul> <p>Driver training includes 15 classroom hours and up-to 30 hours of training with the On Board Instructor in the bus, 2 hours for CDL license testing. In exchange for the district's investment, a commitment of working for the district for a minimum of one school year is expected.</p> <ul> <li>The District will pay wages for the training after the completion of a month of successful service to the district up to 47 hours. </li></ul> <p>This is a full 5-hour route. The District will also add additional hours in another classification, such as custodial, food service, or educational aide (requires license) for those in need of 8 hours and additional benefits.</p> <p>Additional field trips and athletic trips are offered at a non-reduced rate. Drivers exceeding 40 hours will receive time and a half rate.</p> <p>Tremendous opportunities for additional hours.
