<p>The purpose of this classification is to coordinate the planning and implementation of specialized programming at one of our tennis centers. We are seeking an individual with a strong history in excellent customer service and facility management. </p> <p>Please be sure to include all related tennis experience in the work section of your application.</p> <p>Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.</p> <p>Coordinates daily work activities: organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; creates and distributes staff schedules; ensures adequate staffing for programs and events; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff; assists with complex/problem situations; provides technical expertise; and trains staff in operational policies and procedures.</p> <p>Plans, implements, and coordinates diversified, specialized recreation and sports programs and for assigned facilities: develops program services and activities; schedules classes, leagues, events and programs; reserves facilities and schedules grounds use; coordinates and supervises instructors, staff, and volunteers; provides information and direction as needed; processes participant registrations; and manages programs in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines.</p> <p>Coordinates facility and grounds use: maintains master calendar; schedules facility rentals; prepares for scheduled events; sets-up meeting rooms; decorates for special events; and maintains related documentation.</p> <p>Assists in developing and implementing budget for assigned facility, program, or event: monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget; assists in obtaining and monitoring use of granted funds; maintains inventories of supplies and forms; ensures availability of adequate supplies to complete work activities; prepares and submits purchase orders; and receives/distributes incoming supply shipments.</p> <p>Coordinates and performs public relations for assigned facility, program, or event: provides information and answers questions; develops brochures, flyers, newsletters, calendars, and news releases; promotes facility, program, or event to civic groups, community organization, schools, the public or other individuals and groups; and prepares and makes presentations regarding services and activities offered.</p> <p>Communicates with department administration, County employees, sports associations, the public, and other individuals and organizations as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems; participates in various committees; attends meetings; and provides information and input regarding facility and program activities, services, and needs.</p> <p>Performs and oversees maintenance of facility to keep the facility serviceable, clean and in safe order for daily operations and to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.</p> <p>Performs other related duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Parks & Recreation, or related field required; supplemented by three years of experience as a Recreation Coordinator, Programmer or Specialist; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Tennis tournament administration</p> <p>Experience with Tennis programming, organizing of events, and Scheduling of leagues Experience running USTA tournaments</p> <p>Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Depending on area of assignment, may be required to possess and maintain a Lifeguard Instructor (Instructor Trainer preferred), CPRO & AED Instructor, First Aid Instructor and Aquatics Facility Operator (or Certified Pool Operator) license. May be required to possess and maintain a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.</p> <p>Sensory Requirements</p> <p>Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.</p> <p>Environmental Factors</p> <p>Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, wetness, humidity, rain, pottery chemicals or rude/irate customers.</p> <p>EEO Statement</p> <p>Cobb County Government is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
