The LDTC is responsible for assessing and analyzing students' learning characteristics, identifying educational needs, and recommending effective instructional strategies and programs. This role involves collaboration with teachers, parents, and administrators to support the academic and behavioral development of students with learning disabilities.</p> <p>Essential Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. </li><li>Valid New Jersey Educational Certificate with Learning Disabilities Specialist endorsement. </li><li>Minimum of three years teaching experience. </li><li>Must have demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, community members, and students to maintain and strengthen sound human relations for the improvement of the school program. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural, diverse community. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Review case histories of all referrals and present diagnostic evaluation of such referrals to the principal. </li><li>Observe referred students' performance in the classroom and other school settings. </li><li>Conduct assessments to determine reading, arithmetic, spelling and general achievement learning preferences and other areas with reference to the referred student. </li><li>Prepare I.E.P.s for classified students. </li><li>Serve as a contributing member of the building Child Study Team. </li><li>Assume case management responsibilities, including pupil placement and evaluation of such placements. </li><li>Assist special education teachers in strategies geared to improving the instruction of classified students. </li></ul> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Apply Online</p> <p>NJ First Act effective 9/1/2011</p> <p>Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer</p>
