All City hiring decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under supervision of the Fiscal Office Supervisor, the Fiscal Officer is responsible for the preparation and analysis of various accounting functions.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintains the records of the general and subsidiary ledgers. </li><li>Records and analyzes expenditures and revenues of various governmental fund types. </li><li>Reconciles cash receipts. </li><li>Prepares fund bank reconciliations and related adjustments. </li><li>Prepares and records all adjusting journal entries necessary to maintain the accuracy and reliability of financial records on a timely basis. </li><li>Prepares fund balance sheets, statements of revenues, expenditures, and changes in fund balances/retained earnings and related subsidiary statements and supporting statements. </li><li>Prepares various audit schedules. </li><li>Performs any necessary reconciliation between detailed records, subsidiary ledgers, and general ledgers. </li><li>Performs financial analysis as required. </li><li>Performs data processing duties as required. </li><li>Research information as needed and as requested by the Supervisor. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of accounting. Special reference to municipal accounting and standard auditing procedures and practices is preferred. </li><li>Computer literacy and experience with word processing and spreadsheet software. </li><li>Must possess excellent oral communication and writing skills. </li><li>Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. </li></ul> <p>The term "limited" means that the successful candidate will perform the job for an undetermined length of time.
