<p>Job Description</p> <p>U. S. Steel is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace culture and celebrate the diversity of our employees.</p> <p>Digital assessment test is required to be completed within 14 days of submitting application.</p> <p>Objective of the Job:</p> <p>The Scale Clerk is responsible for weighing inbound and outbound traffic that is delivering material to Big River Steel</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and "where applicable" ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.</p> </li><li> <p>Captures tare weights on all applicable equipment at the beginning of each shift and before each barge begins to unload.</p> </li><li> <p>Obtains and verifies PO for incoming OTR traffic.</p> </li><li> <p>Scales in OTR traffic.</p> </li><li> <p>Directs OTR traffic to the correct pile location.</p> </li><li> <p>Weighs out each OTR vehicle and proceeds to capture the receipted weight into IOM.</p> </li><li> <p>Prints 2 tickets for OTR traffic upon exiting; 1 ticket for the driver, and 1 ticket for BRS.</p> </li><li> <p>Enters the ticket information into a spreadsheet for verification and tracking.</p> </li><li> <p>Checks in mill service provider trucks for onsite barge unloading.</p> </li><li> <p>Captures mill service provider trucks weights in IOM.</p> </li><li> <p>Enters mill service provider truck weights into spreadsheet.</p> </li><li> <p>At the end of the shift and/or the start of every barge unload, compare truck driver log to barge/scale clerk log and to IOM report for a triple check process.</p> </li><li> <p>Close notices once IOM report, scale clerk log, truck driver logs, and the daily barge log all match.</p> </li><li> <p>Release barges upon completion of unloading/cleaning.</p> </li><li> <p>Publish daily and ad-hoc reports as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as required.</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>1) Requirements and Skills:</p> <p>a) Proficient use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking</p> <p>b) Ability to manage multiple tasks, to set priorities, and to meet deadlines</p> <p>c) Strong organization and analytical skills</p> <p>d) Self-managing; works well with little supervision</p> <p>e) Geographically competent</p> <p>f) Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external parties regarding issues and changes</p> <p>2) Education and Experience:</p> <p>a) High School degree or GED Equivalent</p> <p>b) 1 to 3 years of related experience preferred</p> <p>c) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products</p> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Environment is typically in an office setting with a controlled environment. Physical responsibilities do include going into the plant, external locations and scale houses as needed. General work hours are expected with some overtime depending on the workload.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibility:</p> <p>This position does not supervise others</p>
