<p>Provide counseling and mental health services for WMU students.</p> <p>Major Duties</p> <ul> <li>Conduct psychological intake, evaluation and assessment with students at a designated location including, but not limited to, the counseling services department, primary care department, or other campus locations as needed. </li><li>Provide individual counseling to students from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, abilities, ideologies and practices, gender identities, and sexual orientation. </li><li>Facilitate treatment groups. </li><li>Provide crisis counseling and clinical consultation. </li><li>Participate in outreach activities on campus. </li><li>Maintain clinical documentation, records, diagnostic and coding consistent with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). </li><li>Collaborate and consult with medical professionals, ancillary services, and other campus and community resources. </li><li>Participate in peer review meetings, quality improvement committees and other duties as assigned. </li><li>Provide after-hours on-call crisis intervention and management services. </li><li>Provide clinical supervision to graduate trainees. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in psychology, counseling, and/or social work from an accredited institution. </li><li>Licensed in the State of Michigan. </li><li>Two years post-licensure experience. </li><li>Scope of practice includes a broad range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, sexual assault, thought and mood disorders and other conditions common to a college student population. </li><li>Knowledge of a broad range of psychological theories, treatment interventions, and evidence based treatment models. </li><li>Strong clinical knowledge base in the following areas: psychological intake, evaluation, assessment, clinical documentation and counseling. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication abilities and presentation skills. </li><li>Must be able to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. </li><li>Crisis intervention and management experience. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Practiced in an integrated health care delivery system. </li><li>Experience with an electronic health record. </li><li>Strong clinical skills working with an adolescent and young adult population. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants Additional Position Information</p> <ul> <li>Western Michigan University offers generous benefits to its employees including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement, and tuition discount for the employee and tuition remission for eligible dependents. </li><li>To access information about the specific benefits available for this position, go to: https://wmich.edu/hr/benefits-faculty </li></ul>
