In this critical compliance role, you will be an integral member of our Environmental and Regulatory (E&R) team at our Commerce City refinery, which is the largest refinery in the Rocky Mountain region and the only petroleum refinery in Colorado.</p> <p>As a Specialist Environmental and Regulatory Advisor you will support air permitting efforts, including Emission Inventories, support regulatory advocacy and implementation efforts including Environmental program development and management, and you will work with the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE). You will identify risks and make recommendations to Senior Leaders and provide day-to-day technical expertise for various functions of the refinery.</p> <p>Salary Range: $135,000 - $157,000 annually and an annual incentive program</p> <p>Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. An additional equity component is provided in the form of Restricted Share Units (RSUs). </li><li>Benefits: Competitive and flexible employee benefits package that can be adjusted to suit the changing needs of your life, including: 3 medical options (including HSA and FSA options), 2 dental options, vision coverage, and an Employee Assistance Plan </li><li>Generous time-off: Vacation program (based on credited prior experience) as well as 12 additional personal paid time off days annually </li><li>Talent development programs: Internal mobility, succession planning, and employee training and development programs are just a few ways we're dedicated to your development </li><li>Relocation assistance: We provide support with lease cancellation or home sale, temporary accommodations, rental home search, moving and storage costs, spousal assistance and more if required </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in engineering, chemistry, or environmental science or other closely related discipline </li><li>10 years of relevant industry environmental experience </li><li>Experience in an environmental program area that involves operations and experience providing guidance on a day-to-day basis to management and/or operations personnel </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of refinery operations, processes and relations to emission sources </li><li>Experience with the New Source Review (NSR) permitting program including nonattainment NSR, Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), Best Available Control Technology (BACT) and Lowest Achievable Emission Rate (LAER) evaluations </li><li>Experience with Title V permitting, including development of renewal, minor modification, and significant modification applications </li><li>Strong working knowledge of New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) and National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) regulatory applicability and requirements </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Collect, assess, and manage environmental data to develop technical solutions that maximize compliance, performance, flexibility, and sustainability; maintain environmental databases, emissions calculations, inventories, and Annual Emissions Inventory Reports </li><li>Provide environmental regulatory compliance guidance to refinery operations and leadership; implement Title V permit requirements and state/federal air rules (e.g., gasoline distribution, Colorado refinery and air toxics rules, Regional Haze, NOx RACT, NSPS Kc) </li><li>Lead compliance and implementation of Colorado air and energy regulations, including Regulation No. 27 (GHG Emissions and Energy Management for the Manufacturing Sector) and Regulation No. 28 (Building Benchmarking and Performance Standards) </li><li>Manage and support compliance programs and technical activities, including ambient air monitoring and modeling, visible emissions/opacity, cooling water, and RICE MACT requirements </li><li>Interface directly with state and federal regulators; enhance relationships with national industry stakeholders and support public engagement efforts </li><li>Lead and oversee contractors and consultants; mentor junior staff on complex assignments; participate in the Environmental team's 24/7 on-call rotation </li></ul> <p>Location and other key details:</p> <ul> <li>You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd. </li><li>Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs, including being on-call as appropriate and potentially working night shifts as necessary during large scale outages, turnarounds, and/or emergencies </li><li>You will be required to use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces </li><li>Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work </li><li>In alignment with Suncor's value of Safety Above All Else, we conduct pre-employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks, and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employment; Suncor is a drug and alcohol-free workplace </li></ul> <p>Think we are a fit?
