Full Time Shift Day Work Schedule Summary</p> <p>Monday-Friday</p> <p>VP Area President Department 00717 - Office of Comparative Medicine Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range $17 - $21.29 per hour Close Date 03/01/2026 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>Logistics Coordinator</p> <p>Assist in the supply, material flow, and storage of inventory from the supplier to the customer. Ensure timely and accurate flow of material through inbound/outbound shipments. Review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy as well as track and fix shipping errors. Safely and efficiently move and handle items and assist with inventory records. Load and unload goods from delivery trucks, checking for correct quantity and type of materials. Record any damaged, missing, or faulty goods and assist in quality control. Work closely with warehouse staff to keep goods organized and moving.</p> <p>Learn more about the great benefits of working for University of Utah: benefits.utah.edu</p> <p>The department may choose to hire at any of the below job levels and associated pay rates based on their business need and budget.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversees stores, receiving, delivery and shipping functions and personnel for a University department. </li><li>Plans the range and quality of materials to be stocked based on consultation with departments. Evaluates supply needs, turnover rates, cost, perishability, hazardous nature of goods, and storage limitations. </li><li>Makes decisions regarding the physical layout of the storeroom and supervises inventory maintenance. Monitors items, which are not moving, and determines redistribution actions. </li><li>Oversees the receiving and inspecting of orders and resolves order problems with vendors and departments. Verifies stock meets specifications and orders are complete. </li><li>Monitors the storeroom budget by maintaining records of expenditures and reconciling accounts. Documents storeroom operations for </li></ul> <p>billing and inventory control.</p> <ul> <li>Oversees the distribution and delivery of supplies/materials to customers, including large items. </li><li>Assists campus personnel in the selection and pricing of furniture purchases. </li><li>Supervises the activities of other Storekeepers by training, assigning work, and evaluating performance. </li><li>Monitors the receipt, inspection and delivery of radioactive and flammable materials according to federal standards and University </li></ul> <p>policies and procedures.</p> <ul> <li>May direct the preparation of materials for student laboratories using knowledge of experiments to be performed and materials required. </li><li>May supervise the preparation of chemical solutions necessary to support the teaching laboratory. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).</p> <p>Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:</p> <p>Logistics Coordinator, I: Requires little to no related experience.</p> <p>Logistics Coordinator, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.</p> <p>Logistics Coordinator, III: Requires 3+ years of related experience.</p> <p>Preferences</p> <ul> <li>Four years shipping and receiving/stockroom experience </li><li>Two years supervisory experience </li><li>Ability to routinely move or manipulate heavy objects </li><li>Knowledge of standard warehousing procedures </li><li>Demonstrated human relations skills </li><li>Commitment to provide excellent customer service </li><li>A valid Utah Driver's license with proof of insurability for positions that perform delivery responsibilities </li></ul> <p>Type Benefited Staff Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
