<p>General Description</p> <p>JOIN OUR TEAM AS AN ACCOUNTING CLERK II!</p> <p>This role involves advanced clerical and specialized accounting work in compiling, maintaining, and verifying diverse statistical, fiscal, and bookkeeping records and accounts.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Correlates and codes invoices, purchase orders, and vouchers for payment. </li><li>Prepares forms independently and composes letters for supervisor's signature. </li><li>Sets up files and files letters and related technical information in the prescribed manner. </li><li>Assembles information for supervisor's use. </li><li>Refers calls to other employees, officials, or departments as needed. </li><li>Reviews and approves purchasing card transactions and invoices for payments. </li><li>Operates all standard types of office machines. </li><li>Maintains proper accounting documentation & files. </li><li>Posts journal entries to ledger. </li><li>Examines financial records for accuracy and completeness according to prescribed standards. </li><li>Maintains inventory of equipment, property, and various other accounting and control records. </li><li>Reconciles bank statements. </li><li>Performs related work as required. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of office methods and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations relative to financialrecords. </li><li>Ability to perform daily work involving written or numerical data. </li><li>Ability to make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately. </li><li>Ability to read forcomprehension. </li><li>Knowledge of Excel, Tyler Munis and Pasco County Purchasing Ordinance. </li><li>Ability to make decisions in accordance with the departmental rules, regulations, andpolicies. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships withe mployees and public. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. Ability to operate a computer and to use a keyboard to enter data.</p> <p>EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree in Accounting or related field and one (1) year of secretarial/clerical and maintenance of fiscal records experience OR graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and three (3) years of secretarial/clerical and maintenance of fiscal records experience.</p> <p>In House applicants: This position qualifies for DAP</p> <p>LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.</p> <p>ADA STATEMENT: A qualified employee or applicant with a disability may be afforded a reasonable accommodation to perform the essential job functions of a position in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.</p> <p>DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE:Pasco County BOCC is a drug-free workplace in accordance with Federal and Florida law.</p> <p>EMERGENCY RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIVITIES: All employees will be required to work before, during, or after an emergency. The employer will automatically deduct the employee contributions.</p>
