Aspire has health centers in four Central Indiana counties serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Certified Medical Assistant - Float Pool will provide primary and behavioral health services to patients/clients as part of Aspire's integration team. This position will be required to travel to all Aspire clinics for coverage throughout Madison, Hamilton, Boone, and Marion County. This position demands a high regard for integrated or whole person care with knowledge of nursing practices with the seriously mentally ill population.</p> <ul> <li>Connect with individuals and orient them to the psychiatric rehabilitation process and medical integration </li><li>Provide medication monitoring/management to individuals </li><li>Administer injections and perform TB testing, as assigned </li><li>Process medication refill requests </li><li>Complete vital signs and other measurements, as assigned </li><li>Consult with providers and nurses for medication issues and follow through on lab orders and coordinate linkage for results </li><li>Ensure follow through for physician orders </li><li>Teach health related and medication skills and evaluate progress </li><li>Set or fill medication boxes, as assigned </li><li>Employ resources available to handle crisis situations </li><li>Triage nursing calls, as assigned </li><li>Update patient/client medical record </li><li>Complete Medicaid, Commercial and/or Managed Care prior authorizations for medications </li><li>Teach, counsel and monitor individuals on health issues relevant to their care </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of a two (2) year Medical Assistant program accredited by the U.S. Department of Education highly preferred </li><li>One (1) year directly related experience in a service capacity of individuals in need (e.g., children, youth, elderly, physically, emotionally and/or mentally disabled, special needs, nursing care, etc.) highly preferred </li><li>Previous clinical experience in a medical setting highly preferred </li><li>Must be certified by an accredited certifying body in the State of Indiana for Medical Assisting </li><li>Must possess/maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization </li><li>Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to other sites for coverage </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Aspire prioritizes a work culture that takes care of employees not only at work but in their personal lives as well.
