<p>Hearing Instrument Specialist (Licensed)</p> <p>Employment Type: Part-Time Temporary. Temporary to Permanent possible</p> <p>About Us</p> <p>Holyoke Medical Center is a community-focused, not-for-profit healthcare organization serving a diverse, multicultural population across Hampshire and Hampden County. Our Speech & Hearing department provides comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative hearing care within a collaborative, interdisciplinary hospital environment. We prioritize quality, access, and continuity of care over high-volume sales, integrating hearing health into the broader continuum of patient wellness.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist will provide patient-centered hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and follow-up care in alignment with hospital standards and state licensure requirements. The role works closely with audiologists and other clinical teams to deliver coordinated care for outpatient populations.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform comprehensive hearing aid assessments and hearing aid fittings. </li><li>Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, device use, and communication strategies. </li><li>Collaborate with audiologists, otolaryngologists, and primary care providers to ensure integrated care. </li><li>Manage follow-up appointments, adjustments, and repair coordination. </li><li>Document services accurately within the hospital's electronic medical record (EMR). </li><li>Maintain compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulations governing hearing aid dispensing. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Active Hearing Instrument Specialist license (Massachusetts) required. </li><li>Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare or audiology setting preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a multicultural patient base and varied payor mix. </li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical documentation skills. </li><li>Strong ethical standards and commitment to patient advocacy. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS: Associates Degree; Massachusetts Hearing Instrument Specialist license</p> <p>We Offer</p> <ul> <li>Competitive compensation and hospital benefits. </li><li>Access to leading-edge technology and collaborative interdisciplinary support. </li><li>Regular daytime hours within a stable, hospital-based practice setting. </li><li>Opportunities for professional development and career growth. </li></ul>
