<p>OVERVIEW</p> <p>Provides leadership, development, and direction to leaders at SDS Terminals and equipment-related, transportation functions to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient planning and execution of transportation operations; strong support for drivers and delivery assistants; excellent service to stores; effective use of technology; sound financial and staffing management; and consistent execution of processes and SOPs, while driving continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration across SDS. Lead centralized transportation equipment-related functions and coordinate lease agreements, invoicing, and execution of service level agreements across multiple SDS locations.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)</p> <ol> <li> <p>Maximize the development of internal talent through regular performance coaching, Strive performance conversations, supporting Manager IDPs, and presenting developmental opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and assist SDS terminal and equipment management in daily operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and dependable delivery of products to our customers that are compliant with all federal, state, local, and Sheetz Transportation regulations, policies, and procedures (DOT, CLI, SDS, Sheetz Inc)</p> </li><li> <p>Develop understanding of other SDS functional areas and collaborate with other department leaders on SDS strategic initiatives</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor annual expenses for assigned areas of responsibility and maintain adequate staffing levels to improve efficiency and meet customers' needs</p> </li><li> <p>Develop, modify, and hold people accountable to all processes and SOPs; establish job expectations for Managers to assist in measuring accountability, and ensuring they are supporting team members and customers in a timely and efficient manner</p> </li><li> <p>Drive a culture of excellent customer service to our stores by ensuring effective communication, resolution of issues, and monitoring metrics.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead centralized transportation equipment-related functions across multiple SDS locations, directing cross facility planning, equipment lifecycle strategies, and support to drive standardization, efficiency, and service consistency</p> </li><li> <p>Forecasts future equipment requirements and recommends appropriate specifications. Manages and coordinates equipment lease schedules, reviews monthly invoices for accuracy and payment, and ensures on-site maintenance providers comply with service level agreements</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the leaders in Transportation Support and Logistics to evaluate routing and Transportation call support for all SDS locations</p> </li><li> <p>Work with the Safety Professionals to coordinate accident reviews, evaluate hiring criteria, and maintain an uninterrupted hiring and driver training process.</p> </li></ol> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Logistics or business related field required </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 7 years transportation, distribution, terminal, or supply chain operations experience required. </li><li>Minimum 5 years direct people leadership experience required </li><li>Previous experience managing lifecycle planning and spec'ing of tractors, trailers, and material handling equipment for a multi site transportation operation, including Vendor management, administration of leases, service level agreements (SLAs), and invoice review/approval preferred </li><li>Previous experience leading multi-site or centralized operations preferred </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license required </li></ul> <p>Tools & Equipment</p> <ul> <li>General Office Equipment </li></ul> <p>ACCOMMODATIONS</p> <p>Sheetz is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
