<p>Description of Job Duty:</p> <p>The VPSA leads a comprehensive Student Affairs division and ensures that all units deliver high-quality, responsive, and accountable services. This role oversees the Office of First-Generation Student Success, Center for Counseling & Mental Health Wellness, Dean of Students, Accessible Education Center, Health Services, Intercultural Affairs, Student Leadership & Engagement, University Housing & Residential Life, University Police, and the Marc L. Burnett Student Recreation & Fitness Center.</p> <p>The VPSA works collaboratively with campus partners to strengthen the student experience, support retention and engagement initiatives, and maintain effective, compliant and student-focused operations across the division.</p> <p>The position will remain open until filled. Nominations for the position and questions concerning the job requirements or hiring process should be directed to: TTU.VPSA@csasearch.consulting.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Lead a bold, forward-thinking vision that transforms Tennessee Tech into a vibrant, engaged residential campus, championing the student experience through high visibility, approachability and daily interaction with students. </li><li>Develop and promote programs, traditions and signature events that build belonging, spirit, and pride; strengthen student organizations across Greek Life, academic clubs, athletics, cultural groups and faith-based communities; and implement a strategic plan to significantly grow Greek Life participation to support university retention efforts. </li><li>Inspire, mentor and build a high-performing Student Affairs team, bringing creativity, resilience and innovation to initiatives that require broad collaboration, and communicate a compelling vision aligned with Tennessee Tech's strategic goals. </li><li>Build and sustain partnerships with faculty, deans, athletics, alumni relations, advancement and the Cookeville community to break down silos and create a seamless, integrated student experience. </li><li>Serve as a senior advisor to the President and an active member of the President's Cabinet while providing leadership across the university on issues impacting student life, engagement, success and well-being. </li><li>Lead a student-centered division focused on holistic development, mental health, and well-being, collaborating with Enrollment and Communication and academic leadership to support retention and ensure students are prepared to become practical, ready-to-work graduates. </li><li>Oversee all Student Affairs units, including the Office of First-Generation Student Success, Center for Counseling & Mental Health Wellness, Dean of Students, Accessible Education Center, Health Services, Intercultural Affairs, Student Leadership & Engagement, University Housing & Residential Life, University Police, and the Marc L. Burnett Student Recreation & Fitness Center, ensuring exceptional service, operational excellence and accountability. </li><li>Manage budgets, fee revenue, auxiliary accounts and long-term financial planning; develop metrics to measure impact and outcomes; and foster a culture of continuous improvement and assessment. </li><li>Supervise divisional leaders with high expectations for service excellence, engagement, innovation and student-centered leadership. </li><li>Represent Tennessee Tech on local, regional and statewide committees; build strong community partnerships; cultivate relationships with alumni and business leaders; and collaborate with Athletics to elevate school spirit, game-day traditions and student participation. </li><li>Demonstrate energy, visibility and authenticity; serve as a connector and bridge-builder; advocate for student organizations, Greek Life and campus engagement; and bring creativity, flexibility and resourcefulness to advancing Tech's mission and enrollment goals. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Those typical of the duties listed above.</p> <p>Work Hours:</p> <p>Typical Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary. Executive pay grade E2-20.</p> <p>Benefits Information:</p> <p>The University offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree from an accredited institution. </li><li>At least 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in student affairs, educational leadership, or comparable experience. </li><li>Effective oral communication skills. </li><li>Develop and interpret policies and procedures. </li><li>Excellent problem solving and management skills. </li><li>Able to develop short-term and long-term plans. </li><li>Skilled in planning/coordinating programs, services, and activities. </li><li>Accurately prepare records and reports. </li><li>Understand and execute budget processes. </li><li>Effectively supervise personnel and personnel actions. </li><li>Leadership skills a must. </li><li>Organization and prioritizing skills are essential. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Doctorate in Student Personnel Services, School Psychology in Counseling, or Administration and Supervision, significant managerial experience in a Student Affairs setting with a demonstrated competence in administration, student development, and budget. </li><li>Experience as a Dean, Associate Vice President, Vice President, etc. </li><li>Knowledgeable of student affairs policies, procedures, and compliance in regard to ADA, FERPA, Judicial Affairs, and Professional Certifications. </li></ul>
