This opening is for an experienced Systems Engineer to support our Air Traffic Control (ATC) programs. Strong candidates will have experience with IP-based voice communication systems, be goal oriented, and customer focused. The position is based out of our headquarters in Columbia, MD in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area.</p> <p>Your tasks</p> <ul> <li>Design, integrate, and deploy R&S Air Traffic Control (ATC) project IP based voice communications systems / subsystems to include analog protocol converters for radio and telephony, networking, and air traffic controller operator and administrator acceptance. </li><li>Provide technical support from project initiation to closeout, bringing a requirement validation and customer satisfaction first mindset </li><li>Orchestrate and conduct internal and customer system design and requirement events within project schedule and budget. </li><li>Translate customer needs into requirements and competitive solutions maximizing R&S content by creating and maintaining a verification cross reference matrix (VCRM) throughout the project lifecycle </li><li>Review, and at times derive, customer requirements for compliance against R&S products, establish requirement success criteria, and assist in allocation per test case </li><li>Develop system architecture according to customer requirements and CONOPS, including high level to detailed designs, CDRLs, call/network data flows, sequence diagrams, and review / approve technical drawings and specifications from design and product teams </li><li>Develop quality system design and configuration documentation in coordination with test, design engineers and peer product engineering teams </li><li>Serve as technical interface between customers, R&S product design and development teams, and project management. </li><li>Lead product certification by coordinating with external labs and managing product assets in both Canada and the United States </li><li>Install and configure networking and computing systems. </li><li>Provide expert level technical support and troubleshooting of voice communication systems. </li></ul> <p>Exciting insights into Rohde & Schwarz</p> <p>Our colleagues provide insider information about:</p> <ul> <li>Daily adventures and challenges </li><li>Our passionate team </li><li>The technologies behind the innovative projects and solutions </li></ul> <p>Your browser does not support the video tag</p> <p>Your qualifications</p> <ul> <li>B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant engineering degree. </li><li>5+ years of systems test experience in telecom/networking industry with strong understanding of process, development and execution of US Government test programs. </li><li>Strong communication and customer interface skills (verbal and written). </li><li>Configure and analyze VoIP networks, computing infrastructure, software deployments. </li><li>Experience with scripting tools, analysis, test and measurement equipment, such as spectrum analyzers. </li><li>Familiarity with ED-137 standards, NIST and NESSUS cybersecurity standards </li><li>Familiarity with radios (VHF/UHF), transmitters, antennas, and voice communication systems </li><li>Experience writing System and Technical Manuals and Documentation, Standards and Compliance Documents </li><li>Testing and Certification Reviews </li><li>Proficient in relevant business tools including MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint. </li><li>Proficient with requirements management tools such as DOORS, etc. </li><li>Proficient with project orchestration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams </li><li>Ability to operate with considerable autonomy and minimal supervision and deliver high quality artifacts </li><li>Solid understanding and experience in radio and voice communication systems (VCS) </li><li>Excellent understanding of industry best practices and standards. </li><li>Ability to travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, up to 30%. </li><li>In order to be considered, candidates must be a US person capable of receiving a U.S. Government public trust clearance. </li></ul> <p>Interested?</p> <p>We are looking forward to receiving your application!</p> <p>The total compensation for this position is $104K-$150K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level.
