<p>The Toledo Clinic's Pediatrics Department, located in Oregon OH, is seeking a part-time, 20 hours per week, Medical Receptionist. This position will work Monday (10:00-5:00) and Tuesday & Thursday (8:30-3:00). Previous experience in a medical office is preferred.</p> <p>General Summary:</p> <p>Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office.</p> <p>Principal Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Answering phones - courteously and professionally. </li><li>Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc. </li><li>Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications. </li><li>Updating insurance information. </li><li>Answering general patient questions. </li><li>Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel. </li><li>Collecting co-pays. </li><li>Preparing and/or submitting charge tickets. </li><li>Preparing and cleaning exam rooms. </li><li>Sorting, filing and scanning patient charts. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>HS diploma or GED. </li></ul> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills required. </li><li>Computer skills helpful. </li><li>Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame. </li><li>Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed. </li><li>Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Previous clerical experience in a medical office </li><li>Medical related coursework </li></ul>
