<p>Springfield International Charter School is seeking a passionate and experienced Varsity Defensive Coordinator to lead the defensive unit of our high school football program. This individual will be responsible for developing a competitive and disciplined defense, mentoring student-athletes, and contributing to the overall success and culture of the program.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the Head Coach to design and implement weekly defensive game plans and practice plans. </li><li>Teach defensive schemes, techniques, and fundamentals appropriate for high school athletes. </li><li>Break down game film using Hudl and prepare scouting reports on opponents. </li><li>Make in-game defensive adjustments and play calls. </li><li>Mentor and develop position coaches on the defensive staff. </li><li>Build strong relationships with student-athletes and promote academic accountability, sportsmanship, and character development. </li><li>Attend all practices, team meetings, film sessions, and games (including offseason workouts and camps when possible). </li><li>Ensure player safety and enforce all team, school, and MIAA rules. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Prior high school or college coaching experience required (defensive experience strongly preferred). </li><li>Strong knowledge of defensive schemes (4-2-5, 3-4, 4-3, etc.) and flexibility to tailor to personnel. </li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work evenings and weekends. </li><li>Must pass all background checks and meet MIAA coaching requirements. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>College playing or coaching experience. </li><li>Experience with HUDL and digital scouting tools. </li><li>Ability to coach an offensive and defensive position group </li></ul> <p>Job Category: Coach</p> <p>Job Type: Temporary</p> <p>Job Location: Springfield International Charter School</p>
