<p>Overview</p> <p>Service Coordinator, Registered Nurse, Surgery</p> <p>Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift</p> <p>Fort Sanders Regional Overview:</p> <p>Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is a 444-bed hospital recognized for pairing clinical expertise with advanced medical technology to deliver exceptional care. As a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, we provide leading-edge treatment for stroke recovery. Our facility also offers specialized services in bariatric surgery, robotic surgery, minimally invasive spine procedures, and advanced orthopedic care.</p> <p>Fort Sanders Regional is part of Covenant Health, East Tennessee's largest nonprofit health system and a Becker's "Top 150 Places to Work in Healthcare." Covenant Health includes nine hospitals and nearly 150 service locations, offering employees a comprehensive benefits package with tuition reimbursement, student loan assistance, certification bonuses, and leadership development programs.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Provides leadership and oversight for specialty area. Acts as a resource for the specialty area.</p> <p>Recruiter: Lacey Spoon || apply@covhlth.com</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develops service goals. </li><li>Responds to specialty/emergency/needs as needed. </li><li>Functions as a resource person and team leader. </li><li>Demonstrates competence in critical skills to include delivery of care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served. </li><li>Evaluates service inventory and adjusts. </li><li>Orders specialty items. </li><li>Serves as liaison with medical staff and other customers. </li><li>Serves as expert, resource, and consultant for specialty area. </li><li>Coordinates maintenance of service equipment. </li><li>Maintains proficiency for specialty area. </li><li>Researches alternatives for usage of equipment/instruments. </li><li>Provides feedback (verbal and written) on staff performance. </li><li>Refers personnel conflict management to supervisor, manager, or director. </li><li>Develops and implements educational training programs for personnel. </li><li>Assumes departmental charge responsibilities as needed (weekends, 3-11, holidays, etc.). </li><li>Recommends staff assignments to provide optimal customer satisfaction. </li><li>Identifies learning needs with staff. </li><li>Monitors schedule in advance to prevent conflicts and coordinates needs. </li><li>Problem solves and trouble shoots specialty conflicts (equipment, instrumentation, etc.). </li><li>Researches and submits proposed budget purchase items each year and as needed. </li><li>Maintains/updates specialty charges. </li><li>Maintains, develops, and updates specialty surgeon preference cards. </li><li>Develops specialty instrumentation trays and procedural packs. </li><li>Meets with staff monthly to discuss staff needs, goals and problems as associated with the services. </li><li>Provides at least eight (8) credit hours of in-service per year. </li><li>Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <p>Minimum of four (4) years professional experience.</p> <p>Licensure Requirement:</p> <p>Valid Tennessee RN license or current and active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification established by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).</p>
