<p>Job Title: Medical Assistant</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Provide compassionate care to pediatric patients in a pediatric neurology office. This role involves updating patient information, assisting with a daily patient load of approximately 25 patients shared between two medical assistants, and handling heavy documentation responsibilities.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct patient intakes and room loading </li><li>Perform vital checks and medication reconciliation </li><li>Prepare charts prior to patient visits </li><li>Prepare orthopedic injections for the doctor to administer </li><li>Prepare patient rooms and complete prior authorizations </li><li>Review MRI reports </li><li>Restock rooms and supply closets, and complete inventory </li><li>Triage phone calls for any physician or patient questions </li><li>Update patient records and electronic medical records using Athena </li><li>May cross train in spine, pain management, and orthopedics </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Medical assisting experience </li><li>Patient care skills </li><li>Pediatric experience </li><li>At least one year of medical assistant experience </li><li>EMR experience (Athena preferred, other EMR systems acceptable) </li><li>Good documentation skills </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred but not required </li><li>Accredited diploma from a medical assistant school </li><li>Experience in pediatric and/or outpatient settings </li><li>Strong organizational skills </li><li>Patient, detail-oriented, and eager to learn </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position supports two offices. The primary location is in the person office at 315 E. Northfield Road, Floor 1, NJ, with twice weekly visits to Building B, Warren, NJ. The office may move to Florham Park in the future. The shift is Monday to Friday, with specific hours: Monday 9-7, Tuesday 9-6, Wednesday 9-7, Thursday 9-5, and Friday 9-2. The candidate must be flexible to stay until the last patient is seen. The work involves handling pediatric patients with conditions such as ADHD, migraines, autism, and nerve issues.
