The Associate Role at Vantage Partners

About Vantage Partners

Vantage Partners is a boutique training and consulting firm headquartered in Boston. We help Fortune 1000 clients around the world navigate complex challenges - from launching new products to redesigning global training programs, integrating teams, and transforming how people work together. We serve clients across industries, including biopharma, healthcare, energy, financial services, high-tech, and manufacturing.

Our roots trace back to the Harvard Negotiation Project, and our founders have taught at Harvard, Dartmouth, and West Point. Over the past 30 years, we've published award-winning books and Harvard Business Review articles and built a reputation for applying deep intellectual rigor to real-world problems in negotiation, collaboration, leadership, and change.

We're serious about our work, but not about ourselves. We ask hard questions, value humility and humor, and support each other as teammates and people. Whether we're taste-testing potato chips, gathering for our annual Fun Day, or volunteering in our communities, we bring the same spirit of curiosity and care to everything we do.

About the Role

Associates are the foundation of how we deliver value to our clients and how we grow as a firm. From Day One, Associates take on meaningful responsibilities, contributing directly to the design and delivery of impactful client work.

Our work is grounded in a relationship-centric approach to consulting - helping clients align around strategy, navigate change, and collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and organizations. Whether supporting a global leadership development program or guiding a cross-functional integration, Associates are deeply involved in solving complex challenges and fostering lasting partnerships.

We're looking for intellectually curious, highly organized, and collaborative individuals who are excited to work at the intersection of corporate strategy, organizational learning, and complex relationship management. You'll work across industries and service lines, contributing to both our consulting and training projects, while learning how organizations tackle some of their most pressing challenges.

While all Associates begin as generalists, many naturally find themselves gravitating toward one of three areas over time:

Consulting work (e.g., sales and negotiation strategy, alliance management, organizational integration);

Supporting training work (e.g., core negotiation and influence skill-building, instructional design, facilitation support); and/or

Integrated engagements across both domains

Associates who excel typically take on increasing responsibility and are considered for promotion in 1-2 years.

This full-time, entry-level role is for recent graduates who are authorized to work in the United States.

What You'll Do

Client Work: Consulting and Training

Draft and revise PowerPoint decks, training materials, reports, and proposals

Conduct market research and analyze stakeholder interviews to uncover client challenges

Translate notes from meetings into structured action plans and summaries

Manage project plans, meeting logistics, timelines, and follow-ups

Prepare and, over time, help facilitate workshops and learning programs

Internal Initiatives

Support the firm's leadership in business development by drafting materials for prospective clients

Collaborate on research reports and knowledge-sharing efforts

Pitch in across Vantage - from recruiting efforts to volunteer days and firmwide bakeoffs

Who Thrives Here

We don't expect you to arrive knowing how to do it all. We're excited to teach you. And here's what we've seen in Associates who succeed and grow:

Curiosity - about people, organizations, and ideas

Strong writing skills, with an eye on synthesizing information

A love of making things better and bringing a sharp eye for detail

Showing up, following through, and asking great questions

Energy and structure, while remaining adaptable when plans change

A commitment to taking feedback seriously and giving it thoughtfully

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) expected by Summer 2026, or recently completed

Outstanding academic credentials and clear interest in business, psychology, economics, organizational development, and/or education and training

Work or internship experience demonstrating accountability and initiative (project management, research, facilitation, operations, or related)

Clear, professional communication (written and verbal)

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Apply

Vantage Partners is committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunity and will not discriminate against an applicant or employee on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, age, physical or mental disability, veteran or military status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, or any other legally recognized protected basis under federal, state, or local law.

Applicants with disabilities may be entitled to reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act and certain state or local laws. A reasonable accommodation is a change in the way things are normally done which will ensure an equal employment opportunity without imposing undue hardship on the firm. Please inform Vantage's personnel representative if you need assistance completing any forms or to otherwise participate in the application process.
