<p>Revere Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse for the A.C. Whelan Elementary School.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college of university </li><li>CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association or Red Cross </li><li>Licensed or eligible for licensure as a school nurse through the Massachusetts Department of Education </li><li>Nursing experience in school, pediatric, public health or other relevant clinical area preferred </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assess and evaluate student and staff health needs including injuries and illness </li><li>Maintains a daily log of health service activities using the SNAP health program </li><li>Provide emergency care to staff and students </li><li>Administer medication in accordance with school policy and state regulations </li><li>Coordinate and implement state mandated screening for students and provide appropriate follow-up and referrals. </li><li>Ensures student immunization status meets Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations </li><li>Assist students and families in obtaining health insurance and navigating the healthcare system </li><li>Maintain individual health records for each student </li><li>Develop Individual Health Care Plans and 504 plans for students with specialized health care needs </li><li>Provides medical consultation at IEP and 504 meetings </li><li>Collaborates with parents, physicians and other health care providers to coordinate specialized health care in the school for specified students </li><li>Carry out communicable diseases prevention and infection control </li><li>Provide medical consultation for staff regarding the health needs of students while in school </li><li>Provides health education to students and staff around specified health issues/topics </li><li>Promotes a healthy safe school environment within the school building for students and staff </li><li>Works with school adjustment counselors and administration in reporting all suspected cases of child abuse and neglect in compliance with state regulations </li></ul> <p>Please attach ELAR information to SchoolSpring application.</p>
