The vision of the Mashpee Public Schools is that every student, every day, is safe, respected, and engaged to achieve academic and social growth in a personalized learning environment.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a teacher in the Mashpee Public Schools you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of students in your classroom; align your teaching to the district and state standards; regularly assess students for learning comprehension and modify your teaching to ensure that students are learning; to provide a classroom that is conducive to the learnings needs of all students, especially students who are learning English and students with disabilities.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Plan a program of study to meet students' academic, social, and emotional developmental needs. </li><li>Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement. </li><li>Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. </li><li>Promote and appreciate diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and/or second language learners. </li><li>Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate objectives to students. </li><li>Utilize innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn. </li><li>Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis. </li><li>Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. </li><li>Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and in the classroom to develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom. </li><li>Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aids and/or volunteers. </li><li>Attend staff meetings and serve on staff and school committees. Maintains professional competence through participation in professional growth activities. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution </li><li>DESE Certification - English as a Second Language 7-12 </li><li>SEI Endorsement </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Demonstrated experience with elementary learning principles </li><li>Citizenship, residency, or work visa required </li><li>Cori and fingerprint clearance are required </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal/Administrator</p> <p>LENGTH OF POSITION: 184 days, school year (Unit A Contract)</p> <p>LOCATION: Mashpee Middle-High School</p> <p>SALARY: Commensurate with experience</p> <p>BENEFITS: Comprehensive benefits package includes a Town contribution of 75% towards the cost of health insurance and life/dental/vision plan options, as well as optional deferred compensation plans.</p> <p>Learn more about Mashpee Public Schools here.</p>
