NHC sees itself as a partner with the surrounding community as we provide psychiatric care to geriatric patients who require inpatient hospitalization due to cognitive illnesses as a result of stroke or dementia and other mental health disorders. If you are wanting to do more than pass medications, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>A. The Business Office Manager is responsible for managing the financial activities of the</p> <p>hospital. This leader effectively leads financial planning, cash flow, financial reporting,</p> <p>tracking supplies, and inventory levels, initiating and maintain positive working relationships</p> <p>with third party payors and insurance companies. Oversees business office functioning through</p> <p>management of office equipment, compliance to all standards of operation, and the supervision of</p> <p>the office staff and their compliance to expected competencies. The Business Office Manager shall</p> <p>be responsible for the fulfillment of the mission, goals, and objectives of the Hospital.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>A. Program Development: The Business Office Manager (BOM) has significant input into the</p> <p>Hospitals services to patients, asset management financial feasibility of proposals, and plays a</p> <p>key role in the Hospital's overall success. The BOM will assist and lead in forecasting, cost</p> <p>benefit analysis, compliance with audit standards, fiduciary responsibilities.</p> <p>Managerial</p> <ol> <li>Staff </li></ol> <p>a. The BOM shall organize the operational functions of the business office, billing and</p> <p>collections patient registration, Human Resources, and management of the IT function. This leader</p> <p>delegates duties and establish formal means of accountability on the part of subordinate, provide</p> <p>for department/committee meetings, and attend or be represented at these meetings.</p> <p>b. The Business Office Manager has no control over the professional staff in the exercising of</p> <p>their professional judgment. S/he is required to bring to the attention of the</p> <p>Administrator any failure by members of the staff to conform to established Hospital policies</p> <p>regarding administrative matters, professional standards, and maintenance of adequate clinical</p> <p>records.</p> <p>c. There shall be a staff development program consisting of orientation, in-service</p> <p>education, and continuing education under direction of qualified person(s).</p> <p>d. The BMO shall ensure that all personnel records are accurate and up to date, including job</p> <p>applications, professional licensing information and health information.</p> <p>e. The Business Office Manager ensures that an effective system of internal controls exists</p> <p>within the accounting system and is maintained to safeguard the accuracy of financial data and the</p> <p>security of corporate assets.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Resources </li></ol> <p>a. The Business Office Manager shall be responsible for ensuring the distribution of written</p> <p>communications in the business office, monitoring supplies, business equipment, furniture</p> <p>and building comfort. These responsibilities require the assistance of support staff.</p> <p>Outside of the organization, there is contact with vendors and maintenance personnel to arrange for</p> <p>services and supplies.</p> <p>BOM shall provide oversight of all business office functions, including:</p>
