Our continuing success creates attractive opportunities for purpose-driven professionals to develop new skills, support vital industries, and grow their careers.</p> <p>Summary: Mechanical Engineers perform a full range of assignments within the mechanical engineering discipline, exercising independent judgment and discretion to address project-specific requirements. As a core member of the engineering team, they play a key role in project execution, contributing technical expertise and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.</p> <p>This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) (or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire) and a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, mechanical design for process plants, industry codes and standards, best practices, quality control, and safety regulations. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for completing both standard and complex design work, which undergoes peer review to ensure compliance with company and client specifications.</p> <p>Some of the work you will do:</p> <ul> <li>Achieve engineering project milestones and manage schedules and resources to ensure on-time delivery of engineering deliverables and tasks. Oversee and/or support multiple jobs or complex projects as a Discipline Lead or Lead Project Engineer. </li><li>Prepares complex calculations and checks basic calculations (e.g. Hydraulic analysis for piping systems). </li><li>Prepares complex designs & checks basic designs: Design Basis and Criteria, Tank and Vessel Sizing Calculations (vendor verification), Tank and Vessel Datasheets, Mechanical Equipment Sizing and Selection (vendor verification), Mechanical Equipment Datasheets, Piping Specifications and Details, Mechanical Specifications Prepares basic Equipment / Piping Layouts and conducts pipe stress analyses as applicable </li><li>Reviews basic piping & instrumentation diagrams and supports preparation of complex piping and Instrumentation Diagrams </li><li>Management of engineering sub-consultants (as applicable). Checks basic HVAC & plumbing designs from sub- </li><li>Checks / Approves and may stamp engineering deliverables/drawings and calculations, provide feedback on errors, ensuring high-quality outputs in alignment with engineering standards. </li><li>Conduct engineering checks and/or meetings to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and industry </li><li>Ensure adherence to ISO Procedures and internal engineering standards and specifications. </li><li>Interface with clients to ensure alignment on project design expectations & deliverable progress, ability to lead discussions with client as discipline lead or LPE role. </li><li>Act as a subject matter expert (SME) within the team, offering guidance on complex technical issues for specific discipline focus (or multiple disciplines if knowledgeable). </li><li>Mentor junior engineers and help develop the next generation of talent. </li><li>Travel as needed for project demands, estimated at 10% of the year, with up to 20% to support project demands, start-up & commissioning activities, site visits, client meetings, or project coordination at external </li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of ISO Procedures, WesTech and Industry Codes & Standards (PIP, ASME, ANSI, ASTM, AISC, ). </li><li>Participates and may lead specialty technical customer meetings such as HAZOPs, FATs, etc. </li></ul> <p>Here are the skills that you need:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. </li><li>Experience: Generally, 5 years of experience. </li><li>License: EIT certification required. PE License required or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Design & Construction. Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects; controlling costs (engineering hours), schedule and inter-or cross-discipline coordination. </li><li>Experience working with project management & construction teams. </li><li>Ability to read and understand engineering plans and specifications. </li><li>Experience working with AutoCAD, Inventor, Plant 3D, Navisworks. </li><li>Strong math skills, specifically trigonometry and geometry, understanding of chemistry and physics. </li><li>Excellent computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and other Windows applications. </li><li>Self-motivated with detailed and complete follow-through. </li><li>Valid Driver's license and clean driving record to drive on any company related business or travel. </li><li>Able to maintain a flexible schedule and change on short notice, including limited infrequent overtime. </li></ul> <p>Here are the skills and qualifications that will set you apart:</p> <ul> <li>PE License </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be able to work at desk using a computer and phone system.</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly required to move around the facility.</p> </li><li> <p>Some lifting may be involved, up to 40 lbs, specifically when in the warehouse area(s).</p> </li><li> <p>May be required to inspect equipment when at job and construction sites.
