<p>Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Tier III Network Engineer to support a contract with the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Agency OCIO. The Tier III Network Engineer is a fully on-site position at their headquarters in Washington, DC. <em>This role requires an Active Top-Secret (TS) Clearance for consideration.</em></p> <p>Responsibilities of Network Engineer - Tier III:</p> <ul> <li>Configure and optimize routers, switches, VPNs, load balancers, and security devices </li><li>Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement efficiency improvements </li><li>Support and secure communications using TACLANEs </li><li>Deploy and maintain Palo Alto firewalls </li></ul> <p>Qualifications of the Network Engineer - Tier III:</p> <ul> <li>Expertise in configuring and managing Cisco routers and switches using IOS/NX-OS, Palo Alto NextGen Firewall, and VPN solutions </li><li>Experience in General Dynamics TACLANEs and GEM One </li><li>In-depth knowledge of F5 Load Balancers, including GTM and Big DNS </li><li>Extensive technical experience with Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems </li><li>Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, encryption mechanisms, and various communication protocols such as TLS/SSL, IPsec, SSH, BGP, VLAN, LLDP, LACP, ARP, 802.1x, DNS, AES, and NTP. </li><li>Must hold Active Top Secret Clearance </li></ul> <p>Compensation of the Network Engineer - Tier III:</p> <ul> <li>Salary between 150,000 - $175,000 <em>commensurate of experience</em> </li><li>Comprehensive Benefits: Full Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance, 401k, PTO (Paid Time Off), Paid Holidays, Sick leave as required by law </li></ul> <p>This job opens for applications on 07/18/2025.
