<p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Emergency Services Communication Associate will be responsible for communication with EMS/Rescue systems and relaying pertinent information to the Triage Nurse or Emergency Center Nursing Administrative Supervisor(ECNAS). He/She is responsible for greeting EMS as they arrive and communicating their designated assignment. Responsibilities will also include processing incoming calls related to the Emergency Department. Employees are encouraged to support Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's involvement in the community we serve.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows </li><li>Communication/Customer Service Experience </li></ul> <p>License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>EMT with one year experience or EMT-P </li><li>1-2 years' experience in dispatch/communication role </li><li>Medical Terminology </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Core Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Receive EMS from EMS and enter information into EMR </li><li>Communicate critical information to EC Nursing Administrative Supervisor </li><li>Coordinate patient placement with Triage RN </li><li>Assist with arranging external transport </li><li>Send out alerts Code STEMI, Code Stroke, Code Trauma via paging system </li><li>Navigate incoming call related to the Emergency Center </li><li>Assist with contacting outside agency (coroner, police, etc.) </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to withstand the stress and demands of an active communicative position </li><li>Must be able to withstand many long hours of sitting, standing, and walking </li><li>Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in a crisis situation </li><li>Must be able to make decisions clearly and quickly </li><li>Must be able to read, write, communicate and withstand the demands of patients, families, physicians, and nurses in a calm and professional manner </li><li>Must have excellent telephone voice and diction </li><li>Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently </li><li>Must have manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination and adequate vision needed in daily work </li><li>Must be able to maintain a positive, enthusiastic, helpful personality </li><li>Must work effectively with minimal supervision </li></ul>
