<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position Available: SY 26-27</p> <p>Position: Physical Education/Health Teacher (1.0 FTE)</p> <p>Reports to: Building Principal</p> <p>Primary Function: The successful candidate will implement the physical education curriculum, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness among students. The teacher will create a positive and inclusive environment that supports students' physical, social and emotional growth while aligning instruction with the district and state standards.</p> <p>Qualifications: Current and Valid CT Teaching Certification (044/043 Endorsements)</p> <p>Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Design, plan, and implement physical education lessons based on state standards </li><li>Ensure accommodations and modifications are made for the growth and development of all students </li><li>Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness and individual, dual and team sports </li><li>Guide students in maintaining acceptable standards of classroom behavior </li><li>Maintain records of individual student achievement and evaluating students on a continuous basis </li><li>Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated times </li><li>Prepare for classes and maintain written evidence of preparation </li><li>Uphold and enforce school rules, school board policies, and administrative regulations </li><li>Work with other members of the physical education/health staff to plan instructional goals, objectives, and methods </li><li>Supports and promotes the District's Core Ethical Values with students, colleagues and families </li></ul> <p>Application Procedure: Interested applicants must complete an online application by going to our District website (www.rsd13ct.org).
