This posting does not constitute an employment agreement and is subject to modification.</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Primary Function: Responsible for serving food to residents and guests, dishwashing and housekeeping in dining areas.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Understands the various therapeutic diets and applies this knowledge when serving. </li><li>Serves food to residents following their diets, food preferences and dislikes. </li><li>Sets up employee trays. </li><li>Sets up, delivers and picks up residents' room trays. </li><li>Sets dining room tables for meals </li><li>Vacuums dining room floor after each meal. </li><li>Washes dishes and cleans equipment and areas after each use. </li><li>Clears tables, cleans tables, and chairs after each use. </li><li>Prepares and pours beverages. </li><li>Dishes up salads and desserts for all areas. </li><li>Checks off and initials cleaning checklist at end of shift </li><li>Participates in creating an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, cleanliness, safety and well-being of each resident </li><li>Safeguards privacy and confidentiality of all resident health care information which includes complying with all HIPAA regulations </li><li>Acts as a customer service representative and public relations ambassador for Fairhaven with residents, families, vendors, volunteers and other visitors </li><li>Interacts positively with all residents at all times creating an atmosphere which promotes a homelike environment </li><li>Maintains, cares for and safely uses supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently per Fairhaven policies and procedures </li><li>Maintains sanitary conditions; follows infection control and waste management procedures as they relate to this position </li><li>Reports incidents of abuse, neglect or a violation of the resident's rights immediately </li><li>Completes all in-service training requirements in a timely manner </li><li>Completes all duties and tasks as assigned </li></ul> <p>Essential Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <p>Type of work and characteristics of duties require:</p> <ul> <li>Physical condition allowing for normal kitchen duties including but not limited to; lifting (up to 30 pounds), bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grabbing, pushing, pulling, standing or walking an entire shift, use of arms and hands with dexterity, ability to read and understand directions. </li><li>Ability to communicate in a friendly manner to residents and coworkers in English. </li><li>Ability to show warmth, love and compassion and to make residents feel comfortable. </li><li>Dependability and punctuality </li><li>Comfort in working in a Christian Retirement Center environment. </li><li>Adherence to all regulations specified in the Fairhaven employee handbook, procedures and policy documents. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Identifies improvements to processes and recommend changes to management. </li><li>Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and report. </li><li>Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations as directed. </li><li>Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Experience & Education or Skills Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience not necessary </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Kitchen and dining areas </li><li>Exposed to steam, hot water, food and hot equipment </li><li>Individual duties within a team environment </li><li>Fairhaven approved uniform must be worn </li><li>Typical health care facility exposure when working with the elderly resident including potential injury or infection. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Reference job description.</p> <p>Salary Description</p> <p>$15.00 per hour</p>
