We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Working under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator and in</p> <p>accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, and under appropriate supervisor from the PI as well as laboratory fellows, conducts various routine experiments using established methods and following laboratory protocols and standards, including following all safety and good laboratory and cell culture practices. Captures and maintains records of all of their own experiments and data. Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data using basic statistics and standard laboratory procedures. May perform literature searches as directed by the PI and supervising fellows. Helps senior laboratory technician in executing general laboratory tasks. Participates in laboratory meetings, presenting data and engaging in discussion of other presentations.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Under general supervision of the PI and other senior laboratory members, performs standard experiments routinely used in the laboratory using established laboratory methods and protocols, with appropriate controls. Routine experiments may include reverse transcriptase - polymerase chain reactions (RT-PCR), Western blotting, cell culture and passage of cells, cell isolation, staining.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares and maintains tissue cultures as well as expansion and storage of cell lines.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with animal model experiments and mouse line expansion, characterization.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains careful records of all experiments and data, summarizes, and analyzes results including use of basic statistics.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and equipment. Helps senior laboratory technician in executing these tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains supplies inventory in accordance with departmental procedures and in conjunction with other laboratory personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor as well as post-doctoral fellows, actively participating in laboratory meetings, presenting and discussing data.</p> </li><li> <p>Helps perform literature searches and consideration of findings.</p> </li><li> <p>All other duties, as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>BA or BS, with at least basic course work in biological/physical science required; major in biologic sciences preferred.
