<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Custodian (Job ID 1177)</p> <p>Full Time - Annual Calendar - 11.30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.</p> <p>Salary Commensurate with Experience</p> <p>Competitive Benefits Package</p> <p>Location based upon the needs of the agency in the Torrington area</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Be available to cover other Custodian's shifts for scheduled days off, including evenings or weekends. </li><li>Respond to after-hours building emergencies in a timely manner. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas, including offices, classrooms, conference rooms, and restrooms (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and general cleaning). </li><li>Perform minor repairs and report issues that require professional attention. </li><li>Set up and break down furniture and equipment for meetings, events and activities. </li><li>Comply with safety standards related to trash removal, fire prevention, and proper storage of cleaning products and supplies. </li><li>Perform routine building walkthroughs at the start of each shift; secure the building at the end of the shift, following established safety procedures. </li><li>Monitor equipment and supplies, using checklists to ensure proper operation and inventory. </li><li>Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Facilities </li></ul> <p>The Custodian works under the supervision of the Director of Facilities.</p> <p>Qualifications/Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prior custodial experience preferred </li><li>Ability to work independently, use sound judgement, and take initiative. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, and pulling. </li><li>Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. </li><li>Effective time management and task prioritization skills. </li><li>Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel between sites, as needed. </li><li>Must have flexibility to work early, late or weekends, on short notice. </li><li>Comfortable working in environments serving children. </li><li>Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential. </li></ul> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Applications should be submitted for consideration by visiting EdAdvance's employment page at, http://edadvance.org/about-us/employment, and click on the APPLY button next to the job posting of interest.</p> <p>Human Resources</p> <p>EdAdvance</p> <p>P.O.
