<p>Job Description</p> <p>CDM Smith is an engineering and construction firm delivering legendary service, smart solutions for the environment and infrastructure, and an unmatched experience for our clients and employees. The successful candidate will have significant experience leading and managing the design of mechanical/facilities related projects.</p> <p>The position is based out of our Latham, NY office. We offer a hybrid work environment allowing for working in the office and remotely from home.</p> <p>As a member of our Infrastructure and Services Group you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:</p> <ul> <li>Under light supervision, creating engineering designs including: HVAC systems master planning & studies; HVAC & Plumbing systems; mechanical systems (co-generation); sustainability/energy efficiency/renewable energy/green buildings; etc. of basic to moderate complexity to meet client project requirements. Reviewing draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensuring that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. </li><li>Performing site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updating design requirements as necessary. </li><li>Contributing to the firm's Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submitting technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. </li><li>Attending conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff. </li><li>Performing other duties as required. </li><li>Providing technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviewing the work of more junior staff. </li></ul> <p>Employment Type</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering, or in Engineering Technology or related discipline. </li><li>3 years of related experience. </li><li>Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. </li><li>Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Project Management Professional (PMP), Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) desired. Professional Engineering (PE) license in mechanical engineering. </li></ul>
