May not necessarily receive independent resources; however, their contribution is essential to the conceptual/scientific success of the project.</p> <p>Does this position require Patient Care?</p> <p>No</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Establishes and conducts active, complex scientific research as an independent researcher. </li><li>Makes strong intellectual contributions to scientific strategies of the group/lab and plays a leadership role by acting as subject matter expert in field. </li><li>Contributes to the design and execution of experiments and/or research projects. </li><li>Exercises judgment in selecting methods and technologies to obtain results. </li><li>May collaborate with external researchers and/or receive external project funding support. </li><li>Presents results and prepares publications. </li><li>May assist PI in the training and supervision of other staff. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Doctorate Science required or Doctor of Medicine required</p> <p>Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?</p> <p>No</p> <p>Licenses and Credentials</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>High level of research experience in related field or area of expertise 5-7 years required</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Excellent research skills. </li><li>Demonstrated broad knowledge of field. </li><li>Demonstrated evidence of specific scientific competence in field. </li><li>Evidence of potential for scientific creativity and original thought. </li><li>Able to exercise independent judgment and leadership. </li><li>Ability to contribute to publications. </li><li>Applicants should have recent, direct, hands-on experience in molecular biology and/or protein chemistry. Applicants must be proficient in using core biochemical techniques (Western Blot, ELISA, protein purification, immunohistochemistry, etc.).
