<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The incumbent ensures accurate financial statements and all supporting documents. Maintains compliance with all internal & external reporting requirements.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Financial Management</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for assuring the accuracy of all accounts and all funds of the College, including Donor Restricted, Board Designated, and Undesignated Funds under the direction of the Vice-President for Finance & Administration. </li><li>Reviews and maintains a general ledger, including all necessary subsidiaries and supporting documents. </li><li>Reviews and maintains all records pertaining to college assets. </li><li>Reviews monthly account schedules on all balance sheet accounts to minimize year-end adjustments. </li><li>Reviews and approves SCO journal entries and chart of accounts, and prepares all necessary reports. </li><li>Performs special audit assignments and reconciliations as directed or as deemed advisable. Ensures the year-end Trial Balance and other requested items. </li><li>Ensures proper funding of retirement plan contributions remitted on a timely basis. Resolves any discrepancies as needed. </li><li>Advises retirement plan participants as well as new employees on enrollment and updates within the TIAA retirement plan site. </li><li>Coordinates annual financial audit and retirement plan audit engagements. Ensures all documentation is submitted timely and answers all questions as needed. </li></ul> <p>Financial Reporting and Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Reviews Health Professional Student Loans (HPSL) Program reports to ensure compliance with required regulations. </li><li>Prepares required standardized annual reports to include AOP, IPEDS, FISAP, and Financial Profile. </li><li>Review monthly internal financial statements for accuracy and comments on budget variances. </li></ul> <p>Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Establishes and implements short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures based on accounting best practices. Creates a shared vision and innovative departmental goals that are in keeping with the institution's mission and strategic plan. </li><li>Guides, directs, motivates, and coordinates the activities of assigned direct reports towards department goals through employee development, delegation, constructive feedback, and recognition or corrective measures; sets clear objectives and measures for the department; clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions; monitors process, progress, and results. </li><li>Job Specifications </li></ul> <p>Education: CPA and/or Masters in Business Administration required.</p> <p>Experience: Seven to ten years of experience in an educational non-profit or other non-profit accounting role. Supervisory experience required.</p>
