<p>CWPCo Lineman Journeyman (Wisconsin Rapids, WI)</p> <p>Job description</p> <p>Duties of the Job -</p> <ul> <li>Lead repairs, maintenance, and installation of electric power transmission lines, distribution lines, transformers, and substation equipment. </li><li>Locating and repairing electrical malfunctions. </li><li>Patrols transmission and distribution lines as required. </li><li>Inspects substations as required. </li><li>Performs right-of-way maintenance: brush cutting, spraying and mowing. </li><li>Performs general housekeeping duties </li><li>Understands and follows all safety rules, practices and procedures. Sets positive example for all utility employees to work in compliance with accepted safety standards to foster a hazard-free environment for employees and the public. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by Working Leader and/or Management </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>On-the-Job Requirements -</p> <ul> <li>Must obtain and retain a Commercial Driver's License within 60 days of acceptance and continue to possess a valid Commercial Driver's license as determined by DOT regulation. </li><li>Must be a State Indentured Lineworker or equivalent training </li><li>Must obtain first aid and CPR certificate. </li><li>Must lift 50-70 lbs. regularly, e.g., insulators, tools, wire, cable, etc. </li><li>Must do considerable amount of bending, stooping, reaching, turning, and twisting. </li><li>Must climb and work in high places, e.g., transmission towers above 100 ft., wood power poles, basket trucks, etc. </li><li>Must use chain saw, rope blocks, hot line tools, and hand tools associated with this trade. </li><li>Must operate line truck, basket truck and other associated equipment. </li><li>Must work with voltages up to 115,000 volts, e.g., high voltage switch gear, transformers, and transmission lines. </li><li>Must read blueprints and schematic diagrams. </li><li>Must work outdoors in all weather conditions. </li><li>Must reside within a reasonable vicinity of Wisconsin Rapids. </li><li>Expected to respond to call-ins, work overtime and holidays as required. </li></ul> <p>Personal qualities</p> <p>Qualifications -</p> <ul> <li>Must have a Diploma in Electrical Power Distribution or equivalent education. </li><li>Must be able to lift 50-70 lbs. regularly. </li><li>Must have flexibility, reach and body height consistent with job responsibilities. </li><li>Must have a valid Wisconsin driver's license. </li><li>Preference may be given to candidates with operation and maintenance experience in heavy equipment. </li></ul> <p>Application information</p> <p>Billerud NA is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
