<p>Counseling & Support: Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students addressing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Assist students in resolving conflicts, managing emotions, and developing positive coping strategies. Address issues such as bullying, peer relationships, family issues, grief, and anxiety.</p> <p>Academic Guidance: Help students develop study skills, time management, and organizational strategies. Monitor academic progress and work with teachers to identify students requiring academic support. Provide career awareness activities and assist students in setting early academic and personal goals.</p> <p>Behavioral & Social Development: Promote and implement school-wide programs to reinforce positive behaviors. Collaborate with teachers to address classroom behavior and social issues. Teach and support social skills, self-regulation, and conflict resolution in group settings.</p> <p>Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and crisis intervention for students in distress, ensuring a safe environment. Work with school administrators and other professionals to develop action plans for students in need of additional assistance.</p> <p>Collaboration & Communication: Regularly communicate with parents and guardians about students' academic and emotional well-being. Attend parent-teacher conferences to discuss students' progress and challenges. Collaborate with the school's staff to develop individualized plans for students, such as 504 plans or IEPs.</p> <p>Prevention & Education: Lead school-wide initiatives, such as anti-bullying campaigns, mental health awareness programs, and character education lessons. Facilitate classroom lessons that teach students essential life skills, including responsibility, self-respect, and empathy.</p> <p>District Testing Coordinator Responsibilities:</p> <p>Testing Coordination: Serve alongside building testing coordinators as the district testing coordinator for all district and state standardized assessments, including scheduling, testing logistics, and overseeing administration.</p> <p>Test Preparation: Ensure that students and staff are fully prepared for upcoming assessments, providing guidance on test-taking strategies and requirements.</p> <p>Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with state and district testing policies and timelines, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring secure handling of test materials.</p> <p>Data Management: Coordinate the collection, organization, and analysis of testing data. Collaborate with school leadership to interpret results and develop strategies to address areas of concern.</p> <p>Professional Development: Provide training for staff regarding testing protocols, accommodations, and appropriate test administration procedures.</p> <p>Accommodations & Modifications: Work with the school's special education team to ensure that students who require testing accommodations or modifications are supported during assessments.</p> <p>Communication with Parents and Staff: Communicate assessment schedules and results to parents and staff, answering questions related to the testing process and supporting any follow-up actions based on results.</p> <p>Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or related field. Licensure: Must hold state certification or licensure as a school counselor.</p> <p>Experience: Previous experience in school counseling or related roles in an educational setting is preferred.
