CSEE will do this by creating a challenging learning environment with high expectations for every child with an emphasis on the basic subject areas of English-language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. The school will employ standards based and research proven curriculum, implement best educational practices, use a variety of assessments to measure on-going student progress in skills and content learning, and support teachers with professional development activities that are aligned to the instructional program. The Charter School of Educational Excellence will provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students and foster a strong partnership with families and the community.Position OverviewThe Charter School of Educational Excellence Spanish Teacher understands and promotes the school's mission, vision, objectives, and policies both within and outside the immediate school community. The Spanish Teacher will be responsible for providing a classroom/instructional program that supports the individual needs of all children in accordance with the school's mission and values established by the school.Responsibilities & duties (including, but not limited to)Instructional Planning -Plan, organize and provide instruction to assist students in mastering verbal and written skills in Spanish using individual and small group techniquesProvide instruction and experiences in learning the culture of the communityUse technology tools for instruction, planning, and communication and ensure student engagementEagerly learn new uses and applications of technology toolsEstablish, nurture and, manage student-directed classrooms in which students are working both independently and in groups, playing instruments, and using dance and movement to supplement and enhance the curriculumInstructional Delivery -Collaborate with classroom teachers to create interdisciplinary units that teach grade level content knowledge and skills using SpanishPromote students' self-expression and exploration while deepening their knowledge and understanding of the Spanish language Incorporate Hispanic history in ways that are engaging and meaningful to students and objectivesSpeak clearly, audibly, and fluentlyAdjust the teaching pace to assure maximum student understandingProvide appropriate remedial and/or enrichment material whenever necessaryStudent Assessment -Measure student achievement and progress towards learning objectives using the school's formative and summative assessment toolsProvide ongoing and timely feedback to students on their progress towards meeting expectations and achieving goalsUse student data to reflect on effectiveness of lessons and student achievement progress in order to improve instruction and personal practice Learning Environment -Create, and manage a responsive learning environment that enables students to feel safe, to be creative, and to develop to their full potentialEstablish, model, practice and reinforce age-appropriate rules and discipline using school approved procedures;
