<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The majority of this position will be to assist with the processing of sign orders, which includes the stocking of signs, banding of signs on pallets for shipping, loading and unloading of trucks and reviewing of signs for quality issues. This position is responsible for the field review of signing, marking and work zone materials and installations to assure that they are in conformance with WisDOT standards. This position will also review crash reports involving signs, traffic signals and ramp gates to ensure that WisDOT is meeting its obligation to be Federally crash compliant. In addition, the position will assist the sign shop coordinator with the manufacturing and delivery of traffic signs as needed.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in schedule-range (06-12) with a hourly rate of $22.20.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>This state agency does not sponsor work visas. This state agency is not enrolled in USCIS E-Verify and is not eligible to employ international F-1 students seeking STEM-OPT extension. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.</p> <p>Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting.</p> <p>This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).</p> <p>Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.</p> <p>Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualified applicants will have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with computer programs such as Word and Excel </li><li>Knowledge or ability to learn traffic signing and asset management systems </li><li>Ability to carry up to 50 pounds </li><li>Ability to learn how to operate a forklift, manlift, and electric pallet jack </li><li>Ability to stand on concrete floors for extended periods of time. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Apply online!
