<p>Essential Functions</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>As a Utilities Project Manager, you'll take the lead on planning and managing a variety of construction and technical projects for the County. You'll be the go-to person coordinating with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure our projects are completed safely, on time, and on budget - while meeting the highest quality standards.</p> <p>This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community through infrastructure, public spaces, and essential services.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and Guide: Supervise contractors and crews on daily tasks. Offer support and direction to help them succeed - and step in when complex issues arise. </li><li>Ensure Quality & Safety: Monitor work sites for safety compliance, review construction plans, and make sure everything meets regulatory standards. </li><li>Project Planning: From creating budgets and timelines to reviewing designs and blueprints, you'll keep every aspect of the project organized and efficient. </li><li>Problem Solver: Work closely with division leadership to troubleshoot issues, provide recommendations, and ensure alignment with departmental goals. </li><li>Contract & Vendor Management: Help prepare RFPs, evaluate bids, and work with vendors and contractors through the full project lifecycle. </li><li>Community Engagement: Communicate with residents, stakeholders, and community groups about upcoming projects. Represent the division in public outreach and education efforts. </li><li>Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate with utility companies, state agencies, engineers, and others to keep projects moving smoothly. </li><li>Documentation & Reporting: Prepare executive summaries, inspection reports, and presentations for leadership and elected officials. </li><li>Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep up with tech and construction trends. Recommend new tools, systems, or processes to improve outcomes. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor's degree in a related field </li><li>5+ years of hands-on project management experience </li><li>If you don't have a degree, we'll consider candidates with 9+ years of relevant experience </li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment </li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills </li><li>Tech-savvy, with experience in managing technical systems or IT-integrated projects </li><li>Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines </li><li>PMP Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) </li></ul> <p>Nice to Have</p> <ul> <li>Experience with public sector or municipal construction projects </li><li>Knowledge of Florida permitting processes and code requirements </li><li>Experience leading public outreach or community engagement activities </li><li>Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD, or project management software tools </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <p>Working with us means making a difference.
