No</p> <p>County Albany</p> <p>Street Address Capital Region CAC</p> <p>165 Henry Johnson Blvd</p> <p>City Albany</p> <p>StateNY</p> <p>Zip Code12210</p> <p>Duties Description Under the direction of the Assistant Crime Analysis Center Director, incumbents serve as lead crime analysts, supervise, and perform all duties associated with Crime Analyst 1 with analysis focused on more complex casework. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Performs all duties and functions of a Crime Analyst 1; </li><li>Reviews and approves work products developed by Crime Analyst 1; </li><li>Examines sensitive law enforcement material submitted for support and analysis to extract appropriate data; </li><li>Analyzes data using systematic techniques to parse, locate, and extract case relevant data with value pursuant to investigative details; </li><li>Testifies in court proceedings regarding casework involving routine methods of acquiring, archiving, and analyzing data; </li><li>Uses established report writing standards to prepare comprehensive analysis reports used in criminal investigations or intelligence products, which may be entered into evidence during court proceedings; </li><li>Serves as shift leader as assigned; </li><li>Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities; and </li><li>May be required to work nights or weekends to support operational needs. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Non-Competitive: seven years of crime analysis or related experience*. Required experience includes strategic, tactical, and administrative analysis, which includes resource deployment, crime mapping, pattern identification, or emerging trend recognition; or experience researching and interpreting law enforcement data.</p> <p>Promotion: One year of permanent service as a Crime Analyst 1</p> <p>Substitutions: An associate degree in criminal justice, criminology, criminal justice research, criminal justice policy, psychology, sociology, public administration, statistics, information systems, police science, computer science, mathematics, statistical analysis, or information management may substitute for two years of experience; bachelor's degree in one of these fields may substitute for four years of experience; a master's or higher-level degree in one of these fields may substitute for one additional year of experience; and a certificate in crime analysis or GIS may substitute for one year of experience.</p> <p>For questions on eligibility, please contact Human Resources.</p> <p>Additional Comments Up to 10% travel may be required for this position.</p> <p>Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
